Hi,

the below described problem (5.0.1 -> 5.1.0) still exists.
Even after restarting "sogod" and "memcached" several times.

Thanks for any hints.

Hello,

@Miguel:  I've just 70 users, but all of them are teachers, as I am.
     And teachers are a very "special species" ;-)

I've tried to tune up my webserver with increasing the number of "sogo
workers":

    WOWorkersCount = 50;
and
   PREFORK=20,
and disabled all debug options
and especially enable gzip-compression for all webpages, discribed at:
   https://gtmetrix.com/enable-gzip-compression.html
I've tried some speed-tests:
   https://www.dareboost.com/en
or
   https://gtmetrix.com
or
   https://www.webpagetest.org/  with interesting waterfall analysis.

With all Firefox-versions (Win7 32/64bit, Win10, Linux, ...) we've no
problems, with or without proxy.
Even on my three year old smartphone (Android 5.x) using "Firefox klar"
or the build-in

google-browser using the webpage is "fast enough".
But Edge and especially IE are unusable with SOGo.

But it doesn't seem to be a problem of my SOGo-installation.
http://demo.sogo.nu is very slow with IE, too.

[SOGo] Can't add Email-signature (Imap, SQL)

2018-11-01 Thread Holger Biber

Hi,

after upgrading from Sogo2 over Sogo3 to Sogo 4.0.4 users can't add or
edit their email-signatures.

I'm using Dovecot-Imap and SQL-Auth for Sogo.

The user is able to change the placement of the signature (below) and of
the reply-text (above) ,
but not the signature itself and other imap-prefs (like "Never send a
return receipt")
When adding a signature-text and clicking the OK-button the "Save"-Icon
at the top right side of the

web-window doesn't change to "green" (save is enabled).

At "demo.sogo.nu" (using sogo1/sogo1) it works and there is a simple
texteditor widget for editing the

signature.

How can I enable the user to add a signature and how to enable the
simple editor?

[SOGo] Script for subscribe calendar to several user

2014-08-15 Thread Holger Biber

Hallo,

in our school we have the following situation:
One sogo-user manages several personal calenders which are subscribed
with read/write-access by more than ten people in our school
administration. E.g. one calendar for holiday, one for conferences, one
for exams, ...

Now, starting with the new schoolyear next week, there should be several
new calenders and old calenders should be deleted.

How could I subscribe each of the new calendars to all people in school
administration in the webinterface of sogo? Could I use sogo-tool? Or
is the only way to select each calendar in the webinterface and change
permissions/user rights by clicking?

Thanks in advance for any hints.

[SOGo] Adding, removing users with sql-auth in 2.1.1b

2014-01-31 Thread Holger Biber

Hi,

we are using SOGo 2.1.1b with sql-auth on a CentOS with Plesk
(POP3/Imap and MySQL/phpMyAdmin are on this machine).

I've added several users via Plesk-interface to our EMail-Users. These
users aren't added to sogo-sql-tables automatically. What ist the best
way to add them to sogo, too?

Encryption in plesk email-user-database is $AES-128-CBC$

Parts from my /etc/sogo/sogo.conf:

SOGoAuthenticationMethod = SQL;
SOGoForceIMAPLoginWithEmail = yes;
SOGoIMAPServer = localhost;
SOGoMailingMechanism = smtp;
SOGoPasswordChangeEnabled = NO;
SOGoSMTPServer = localhost;
SOGoUserSources = (
{
MultipleBookingsFieldName = multiple_bookings;
canAuthenticate = YES;
id = directory;
isAddressBook = YES;
kindFieldName = kind;
type = sql;
userPasswordAlgorithm = md5;
viewURL =
mysql://SOGOADM:SOGOADMPW@localhost:3306/sogo/sogo_auth;

}
);

How could I change this config to use just IMAP or POP3 authentication
for all users. Especially not to enter the full email-adress, i.e. just
use myemailname to login not myemailn...@mydomain.net at the
SOGo-weblogin.

Thanks for any hints.

I assume here, that you already got your defaults configuration to the
new machine.

I've a backup of /home/sogo/GNUStep (with subfolders) of my old system.
In SOGo 2.0.4 all settings will be stored in /etc/sogo, but installing
with yum install sogo no directory /etc/sogo

is created and I couldn't found any hints on this.

Additionally all commands must be sudo -u sogo defaults How to
transfer all old settings ?
And last not least I've modified the login-page (own logo, additional
description in german language, ...) which I put
below /home/sogo/GNUstep/Library/SOGo/Templates/MainUI as mentioned in
the documentation.

OK, I know, the official documentation is for releases without a letter,
but configuration in 2.0.4b differs extremly

from the printed documentation.

Just use sogo-tool to backup all data on the old machine.
Then copy it to the new machine and use sogo-tool to restore it there.

In the announce of 2.0.4b:

New features
 * sogo-tool: new dump-defaults command to easily create
/etc/sogo/sogo.conf

But how to transfer the old conf ?

[SOGo] Export calender as *.ics via cron

2012-11-12 Thread Holger Biber

Hallo,

is it possible to export one (or more) calender directly to *.ics via
a cron-job?

Background:
In SOGo we have a special user for our common calender management in our
school.
This user has (at the moment) six own calenders for different types of
dates.

On our homepage we have the calender from http://www.luxsoft.eu/ in
read-only-mode

where we could import different ics-files.

So it would be nice to share (i.e. export) the different SOGo-Calenders
to LuxCal via ics-file

managed by a cron job.

If SOGo has the possibility to do such export jobs, please show me a hint.

[SOGo] Using users (login, password) of Plesk-database

2012-09-24 Thread Holger Biber

Hi,

I've several users (approx. 100) in a Plesk-database used for my old
webmailer (Horde).
These logins and the passwords are stored in different tables of the
same database.

How could I connect or synchronize the Sogo-MySql-Connector with these
tables?
Are there any other solutions to import / synchronize existing user
databases with sogo (LDAP or SQL)?

The best solution would be the auth against the local IMAP/POP3-Server,
but if I understand the docs there

is no IMAP-authentification.

Thanks for any hints.

[SOGo] Sogo 2.x on virtual server

2012-09-08 Thread Holger Biber

Hi,

I'm evaluating SOGo 2.0 for our business school (80 teachers, 2000
students) and I want to use

the native M$-Outlook compatibility.
My system is a vServer (virtual Server) with 8GB RAM, 100 GB HDD and
CentOS 5.

As I read in the installation manual I have to setup Samba with ACL.
But this is the problem. In the virtual server I couldn't set ACL,
because there is just one

partition/filesystem ( /dev/vzfs on / type vzfs (rw,relatime) ).

So is it impossible to setup SOGo 2.x on a virtual Server? Or just this one?
I've searched at several webhoster here in Germany (hosteurope.de,
1und1.de, ...) and all

have root-servers on virtual hardware.

Thanks for any information, or perhaps tips to use SOGo with native
M$-O. on this machine.
