[SOGo] ZEG install script
Hi all, just a question about the Zeg install script. Is there a version of the script available that will install on Centos 6.4 ? Apologies if this question have been answered already. -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
RE: [SOGo] ZEG install script
Ah okay. Szládovics, forgive me for bringing this up if there was a discussion on the topic. If you will entertain my question for a bit longer 1) In CentOS v Ubuntu is Ubuntu considered a better linux OS than CentOS ? Is this the reason why Ubuntu was used or is it just a preference by the developer? 2) Can the script be modified to install on CentOS or is it going to be too much of a mission? [SOGo] outlook and Zeg update
Hi guys, tried Windows XP with Outlook and getting the same results as with Windows 8 and Outlook First error that I picked up on is when creating the Exchange account in Outlook it says that the( Exchange server could not be resolved). I have ( 192.168.1.6 sogo.example.com ) in hosts file. Can ping DNS name and IP and get results back. All firewalls are off I can access the Sogo GUI in IE Any points on this. Has anyone experienced this before? Thank you -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
RE: [SOGo] outlook and Zeg update
Followed the documents but now I have a few questions 1) Do you need to do any configs on the zeg after downloading it (just if you want to test) Is it not a zero config test (meaning that you dont need to make changes to it) ? 2) I did the part where you right click on the outlook icon Ctrl + click and clicked on test. After a minute I see this in logs. Guessmart SMTP:server example.com, port=587,ssl=no,tls=no,spa=yes, starting Guessmart SMTP:server example.com, port=587,ssl=no,tls=no,spa=yes, FAILED (0x800CCC0F) The same errors for port 25 My outlook when started prompts me for the sogo password, I enter it and then you see (it almost wants to sync your items) and then Outlook bombs out with (outlook encountered a problem and needs to restart) I get the same problem on a Windows 8 system. Okay this is what I tried now, I created a new PST folder and made it the default. Now when I open outlook and enter sogo password I get the Exchange folder and the one I created. When I open the Exchange folders I see Inbox, sent items etc I can click in all of them except for the INBOX. When I click on the INBOX then outlook bombs again Not sure why this is happening. [SOGo] Appologies !
Hi Ludovic Marcotte. Before you delete this account, I just wanted to say this - My sincere apologies, I did not intent to insult you and your team in any way but unfortunately I did not get your Zeg to work, no fault on your end. Just my lack of understanding the problem that prevented outlook from staying connected to the ZEG. All of the best then ( okay now you may delete this one) Regards, Ray Really Ludovic? Terminating his subscription? That's seems a bit harsh. I empathized with Raymond and thought his post was rather humorous! I can't get outlook to connect to ZEG When I don't select Microsoft Exchange server option and only select the (auto discover) in outlook then it connects to the IMAP settings of the ZEG and no contacts or calendars are accessible. The documentation states that you need to select the Microsoft Exchange option. This does not work as per my comments above... What I missing? Any help will be appreciated. I am sitting watching the demonstration video of sogo on youtube and giving a big sigh!! Wondering how the hell did they get it to work. Must I purchase a support pack, yes or no. mmm NO if the demo doesn't work, I can just imagine how the support is going to work. Yes I know the ZEG does works but I am yet to experience a working demo with outlook as shown in the video on youtube. Phew, now that I had the opportunity to blow off steam I would like to apologise to the Sogo team. If you do have a working product then great stuff, just a pity you have not found a way to share it with people like me. Man I am so irritable at the moment I can shout it from the roof tops no reflection on Sogo... just me wanting something and not getting it... I am just tossing out my toys, banging my head against the wall and shouting at ants... And all because I can't figure out where I am going wrong with the outlook setup. Re: [SOGo] ANN: SOGo v2.0.6
I am currently having difficulty with the old one... Outlook connects and then later after sending one test email it disconnects... My windows (HOSTS) file has 192.168.1.6 sogo.example.com And I used the (howto) to configure outlook 2007 but outlook still seem to lose the connection. I have the Zeg running on VMplayer on my laptop. I can ping the .6 ip but still have no luck keeping outlook connected. I moved the Zeg off my laptop to ESXi server and I can access the URL to sogo and log in but outlook just don't want to stay connected. Very disappointing, hoping the new Zeg will deliver better results. Please let us know when we can download the new Zeg. Thank you. Re: [SOGo] So disappointed !!
Dear Andre, there is not mush more I can do but to follow the documentation step by step by step in mush detail... My environment is one PC running the ZEG as a VM and there is not mush too it. I configured the PC accordingly as per the outlook config docs and the Zeg runs as is... I can access the zeg from a web browser and I can config outlook to connect to the Zeg. The problem is that it does not stay connected. After sending one test mail it gives the disconnected at the bottom of outlook... So unless the documentation is missing a step then this (useful) information is that the zeg does not work... Something is missing in your documents... Open your IE browser, go to google and do a search and you will find that I am not the only one having this problem... There is some useful information for you... I am not saying that the product is a bad effort but I can't say that it is working. At first I was very excited about it and now like I said, disappointed. RE: Re: [SOGo] Sogo Web Address
Hi, I am reading the howto's and I agree with you, you need to carefully read the documentation as one product can't be installed before the basic items are in place. Print out the documents from the sogo website (Native Microsoft Outlook Configuration Guide) the document refers back to the (Sogo Installation and Configuring Guide) in this guide it states that the basic install of the linux system with MySQL, OpenLDAP, Postfix and Dovecot must first be in place before you can install Sogo and Openchange. So in a nutshell there is a lot to be done before you can even begin to think of installing Sogo. If you just look at the individual items, they all have to be configured and working. So if you are new to Linux you will need to take item by item and install them one by one, figure out how to use, configure and manage all of them. When you are done then you are ready for sogo. Well this is just how I will need to approach the install... I always jump in the deep end first but now I have to re-think that and start from scratch and familiarize myself again with all the items before I can attempt the install. Burning the midnight oil and trying to keep the family happy as well :-) If you do find a complete guide from a-z please share. Raymond -Original Message- From: Ian J. I'm still very new to Linux, and one big problem I find with it is that in order to get a particular 'thing' up and running there are countless dependencies that have to be checked, which have dependencies themselves, etc, etc. All these then seem to have fragmented and piecemeal help on the internet. Oh, how I wish for some co-ordination to it all! :( Ian -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists !DOCTYPE html PUBLIC -//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd; html xmlns=http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml; head titleemail-banner/title meta http-equiv=Content-Type content=text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 / /head body bgcolor=#FF leftmargin=0 topmargin=0 marginwidth=0 marginheight=0 /br a href=http://www.joburgtheatre.com;img src=http://www.showbusiness.co.za/emailbanner/emailbanner.png; width=660 height=215 / !-- ImageReady Slices (banner4web.jpg) --!-- End ImageReady Slices -- /body /html -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
[SOGo] Sogo
Hi Guys, I got the VM from sogo website with a pre-install sogo setup to work on VMplayer, I found that if I user so...@sogo.example.com in outlook then I get the outlook disconnected message at the bottom. When I use user no 2 so...@sogo.example.com then outlook stays connected. My question. Can the VM be used in a production environment (tweaked of course) or is it advisable to start an install from scratch? Thank you Raymond !DOCTYPE html PUBLIC -//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd; html xmlns=http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml; head titleemail-banner/title meta http-equiv=Content-Type content=text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 / /head body bgcolor=#FF leftmargin=0 topmargin=0 marginwidth=0 marginheight=0 /br a href=http://www.joburgtheatre.com;img src=http://www.showbusiness.co.za/emailbanner/emailbanner.png; width=660 height=215 / !-- ImageReady Slices (banner4web.jpg) --!-- End ImageReady Slices -- /body /html -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
[SOGo] outlook 2007 disconnected
Hi Guys, I used the ready to go install and run VMware ISO and ran the Sogo and OpenChange server setup from my VM. I added the email account to outlook 2007 and when I send my first test message I get the Outlook Not Connected message on the bottom right hand side of outlook. The only way I can get outlook to connect again is to delete the test account and recreate it but the error returns. Have anyone here used Sogo with OpenChange in an production environment with success ? Thank you Raymond -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
