[SOGo] samba-tool provision

2013-05-04 Thread ScottJ
I'm trying to understand how the ZEG appliance was originally configured. If I
configure Outlook for the sogo1 user with the ZEG (2.0.5a), it connects with no
problem. If I try to re-provision Samba4/Openchange and re-create the sogo1
Outlook profile, Outlook and/or Samba will crash every time.

Here is what I am doing:
   # service samba4 stop
   # mv /var/lib/samba/private /var/lib/samba/private.orig
   # samba-tool domain provision --realm=example.com --domain=EXAMPLE
--adminpass=sogo1234 --server-role="domain controller"
   # openchange_provision
   # openchange_provision --openchangedb

I then re-create the "sogo1" user in Samba4 and OpenChange:
   # samba-tool domain passwordsettings set --complexity=off
   # samba-tool domain passwordsettings set --min-pwd-length=4
   # samba-tool user add sogo1 sogo --surname=Doe --given-name=John
--use-username-as-cn
   # samba-tool user setexpiry sogo1 --noexpiry
   # openchange_newuser --create sogo1
   # service samba4 start

Now when I go back and re-create the sogo1 user in Outlook, when trying to
setup the initial folders Outlook will either crash or disconnect from the
Exchange server (the samba thread dies).

If I stop Samba, replace /var/lib/samba/private with the original and restart
samba, I can then re-create the sogo1 Outlook user without any errors.

So, what is different with the provisioning that I am missing? What were the
provisioning steps used in creating the ZEG to begin with?

Thanks for the help,

Re: Re: [SOGo] Samba4 Crash

2013-04-08 Thread ScottJ
Looks like I'll wait for the 2.0.5 release and re-deploy/re-test.

BTW - I populated the ZEG mailboxes first using imapsync from the
client's existing mail server. Out of the 10+ users, I had trouble with
2 of them. Apparently, there are existing messages that Openchange is
choking on. It may have to do with calendar appointment "invites". I'm
still investigating, but I'll wait for 2.0.5 before continuing.

[SOGo] Samba4 Crash

2013-04-04 Thread ScottJ
I've configured a 2.0.4 ZEG to use in a production environment. The
postfix/cyrus/web piece works great. I'm having trouble with the
OpenChange/Samba part. When setting up users as Exchange clients, some
of the users work fine, but others either cause Outlook (2007 or 2010)
to crash or the Samba thread to crash. The Samba thread panics with a
sig 11 while doing a "SOGo: sogo_properties_get_properties:1408". This
happens every time for one particular user. What's the best way to debug
this problem? If fact, "where" is this problem? Is it in the Openchange
code, SOGo code, or the Samba code?

I've run apt-get update/dist-upgrade on the ZEG, so it's up-to-date with
the latest available packages in the repositories.

Re: Re: [SOGo] how change example.com form the ZEG

2013-03-02 Thread ScottJ
OK, I've done this a few times. There is an easy way of doing this, but it
involves changing the domain name in a few different places. I'll dig out my
notes and will post shortly.

If I install the current ZEG (V 2.0.1), can I get the latest version of SOGo by
doing an apt-get update?

[SOGo] Existing Samba4 Domain and OpenChange

2012-08-29 Thread ScottJ
I'm looking to add SOGo/OpenChange to an existing Samba4 domain environment and
confused on how to configure it. I'm going to setup OpenChange on it's own VM.
The SOGo/OpenChange documentation explains how to provision/configure Samba4 as
a new domain, but no where does it discuss what to do when an existing Samba4
domain already exists. Do I treat the OpenChange samba4 server as a secondary
DC? And if so, do I add the OpenChange parameters to my main Samba4 domain
server smb.conf file as well? Or, do I just create a completely separate domain
on the OpenChange server for it to use locally? It's not clear how OpenChange
interacts with existing Samba4 servers (or any existing AD server environment
as far as that goes) if at all.
