[SOGo] Make subscribed calendar default or personal calendar
I have an Android app syncing multiple calendars from a user via SyncML and do not need to use the 'Personal Calendar', but just one single subscribed calendar. Is it possible to delete the 'Personal Calendar' or somehow make the subscribed one default so I can avoid having to use a sync tag on every task that I create? -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

[SOGo] Thunderbird Edits Rejected
Hello, I am having a problem where events/tasks cannot be snoozed, edited, deleted, marked complete etc. I have offline support enabled. Sometimes, resetting calendar cache fixes the problem, but most often, I have to uncheck Offline Support and recheck it after changes are made. Has anyone ever had this issue? It happens at least once daily. Thanks, Sean -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
Re: [SOGo] Thunderbird Edits Rejected
Is your Offline Support enabled? Resetting the cache only seems to help temporarily for me. Do you know how Offline Support works? If I keep it turned OFF, and then lose internet connection, will I be prevented from saving changes to be synced to the server once connection is restored? OR can I flip on Offline Support once connection is lost to allow it to save to cache and sync later? Re: [SOGo] Multiple Funambol server paths?
Thanks, yes it does. I had one sync error and will test again eventually but for now am using a different account for each calendar anyways. The Android client supports auto-sync of multiple profiles at once (each can have any account or server path). Re: [SOGo] State of Android task sync
I don't think it's open source, unfortunately. He makes a similar app for iOS at www.plan44.ch. the website has an open source section. Haven't investigated yet. But still this is not Android.. No, the issue is whether it's open source, else when it breaks (maybe even due to a new version of Android), we can't fix it or get it fixed if the developer has gone away! Is it? Re: [SOGo] State of Android task sync
Synthesis is a SyncML client that communicates with the Funambol SOGo connector. It is far superior to aCal as far as tasks go from my testing so far. There is a full featured internal tasks datstore and an option to use the app Astrid as a front end (very nice but unfortunately no start dates). The issue is that it's $25 with a $50 pro version that places task due dates with reminders in the Android calendar and has auto sync capabilities. This is fine for me personally with few Android users but is very unfortunate for those wishing to deploy this in large organizations. Perhaps the programmer has yet to even consider a lower price for a large number of licenses, given that Android has yet to challenge RIM's Blackberry in the corporate and government market. He is very accommodating with making changes to allow full SOGo compatibility. Everything (re: tasks; have yet to test its contacts and notes sync) works perfect so far except reminder syncing (which I've yet to ask about) and task recurring (but I think this is a SOGo issue). Still, it would be great to have an open source alternative. The maker of CalDAV-Sync and Card-DAV-Sync (mentioned in SOGo documentation) told me he has plans to include task sync with his event syncing app but needs to recruit another developer. [SOGo] State of Android task sync
Hello everyone, I am writing to report on my success with Android task sync, and also to inquire whether anyone has had success as well. Unfortunately, Funambol's Android client does not have task support. I found an independently released modified version with task support, but it performed poorly and did not seem to be under development. I have found success with the paid app Synthesis, which has exceeded my expectations. Under a trial license, the programmer has already sent me multiple test versions with feature improvements I requested to better interface with SOGo. It is the only solution I can find to sync tasks, let alone start and end dates with times, task status with completion percentage, task priority, location, category, and task description/note. Has anyone identified a free or open source alternative? Thank you, Sean -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

[SOGo] Security and set-and-forget
Hello everyone, I like to manage categorized task lists with reminder alarms, start dates, priority levels, etc. and use Mozilla Thunderbird's Lightning extension for this. I'd like to have web browser access and sync to smart phones and laptops (including task alarms, etc.) for up to 10 users, and SOGo seems like a great solution. Unfortunately, I have only spent a total of 20 minutes on a Linux system (Ubuntu, in the past) but aim to install Debian soon. I know I will be able to accomplish a full setup with PostgreSQL, Apache, WebDAV with LibreOffice, etc. all in a matter of time. Before continuing to read documentation and wikis, I'd like to learn what I am getting into in terms of security and maintenance in general. My current computer is built into a rack-mountable chassis as it stays with some music equipment. I'd love to build an actual server to join my pile of gear but am wondering how safe it is. Could anyone who has read my long intro inform me of any need to take security measures? Or, are the servers and protocols used in this setup intrinsically secure? I'd like to host public websites from the same server and want to be 100% protected from potential intruders, attacks, viruses, etc. (of course). In addition, will I be able to use only stable releases of all components and set-and-forget it all? I have heard that running systems like these require daily maintenance but aren't nightly builds optional for those aiming to help build the software and test new functionality? Thanks very much to anyone who's willing to help, and sorry to others having to read my email, but I guess you won't get to this sentence! Sean -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists
