[ANNOUNCE] Apache Wicket 6.17.0 released
The Apache Wicket PMC is proud to announce Apache Wicket 6.17.0! This release marks another minor release of Wicket 6. Starting with Wicket 6 we use semantic versioning for the future development of Wicket, and as such no API breaks are present in this release compared to 6.0.0. New and noteworthy -- This release fixes 31 bugs and adds 29 improvements. - Make Wicket-Atmosphere testable - AtmosphereTester (WICKET-5452) - Introduce a marker interface for exception which are recommended to be handler by the framework (WICKET-5628) - Lots of work on the serialization/object checkers (WICKET-5634, WICKET-5642, WICKET-5667) See the changelog added below for more detailed information concerning this release. [ANNOUNCE] Apache Wicket 7.0.0-M3 Released
We have released the third in a series of milestone releases for Apache Wicket 7. We aim to finalise Wicket 7 over the coming months and request your help in testing the new major version. Caveats --- It is still a development version so expect API breaks to happen over the course of the coming milestone releases. Semantic versioning --- As we adopted semver Wicket 7 will be the first release since 6.0 where we are able to refactor the API. We will continue to use semver when we have made Wicket 7 final and maintain api compatibility between minor versions of Wicket 7. Requirements Wicket 7 requires the following: - Java 7 - Servlet 3 compatible container You can't mix wicket libraries from prior Wicket versions with Wicket 7. Migration guide --- As usual we have a migration guide available online for people migrating their applications to Wicket 7. We will continue to update the guide as development progresses. If you find something that is not in the guide, please update the guide, or let us know so we can update the guide. Re: Variant Change Behavior
Thanks Martin, that works for us. I missed that Variants are inherited from parents. Is there also a good way that I can assure in our unit tests that the variant markup for certain components exists and was found? Else a typo would go unnoticed in the unit tests. cheers, Thibault On Wed, Sep 3, 2014 at 12:59 PM, Martin Grigorov mgrigo...@apache.org wrote: Hi, The behaviors are not used for variations. For such use cases you should override org.apache.wicket.Component#getVariation() on the (base) page. This way all components will know the correct variation. In our case we want to use a different markup layout based on the width of the container the component is going to be used in, visually. So if we imagine a Browser window with desktop size, we might want to use a component on the full width, on a third of the width, or a quarter of the width. For each such container width, we need different responsive design markup. Since this may affect many of our components which inherit from different wicket components, I'd like to just add another html markup file for the variant, and add a Behavior to the component that decides the Variant. cheers, Thibault - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@wicket.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@wicket.apache.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@wicket.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@wicket.apache.org
