[xwiki-users] xwiki 2.0 - GWT WYSIWYG - file links

2009-10-09 Thread hel-o

Hi,

we got links to the Filesystem like

[file://server/sharepoint_layouts$file:/server/sharepoint_layouts$]

they are converted correctly to syntax 2.0 and are working there too

[[file://svivm01/sharepoint_layouts$file:/svivm01/sharepoint_layouts$]]

But when we edit those pages in the new WYSIWYG the Links just
disappear!!!???

Why?

Thanks
hel.

[xwiki-users] [myxwiki] new wiki request

2009-10-09 Thread Lutz Griesbach
Hello,

my name ist Lutz Griesbach and i'd like to participate in the myxwiki
Farm project.

I'm an IT-consultant implementing several wiki installations at
customers (confluence, mediawiki, dokuwiki and even Tiddly...) and
would like to evaluate xwiki, and see, if it can extend my portfolio.
At first sight, it looks promising, but i'd like to get in touch
without having to initially install it myself.

The admin user should named 'elgonzo' as well as the the URL prefix,
if that is possible.

Thank you very much!

[xwiki-users] Pdf export

2009-10-09 Thread Ajdin Brandic
Hi

Two issues with PDF export. Might be similar to already reported issue
(http://n2.nabble.com/Page-convert-PDF-error-occurs-tc3261515.html#a3261
515)
But there is no advice on this issue.

1.
I've tried to export all documents from my space (Scenarios) to PDF
http://patternlanguagenetwork.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/export/Scenarios/Web
Home?format=pdfincludechilds=1pagebreak=1

This didn't work as expected. Crated PDF did not contain any document
content, just class property names.
When exporting individually each document things seam OK, but I would
like all documents from Scenario space in one PDF.

2.
In a different space called Patterns even export of individual documents
fails

Any way of exporting a space content to PDF??

Do I need to create a PDF template?

To test XWiki, you can either download the Windows installer from:

 http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download#HXWikiEnterprise

or use the XWiki playground (click on Register at the top right in order
 to create an account):

 http://playground.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome

The myxwiki.org farm isn't really meant for testing but rather for nonprofit
 projects.

 Hope this addresses your need,

We should specify this more clearly on the myxwiki homepage, like in a
{{warning}}. We've refused too many requests in the past few days

Re: [xwiki-users] table border in xwiki

Hi,

We had the same difficulty and resolved it by writing the style of each
cell element locally, this had the effect of overriding the earlier settings of
Xwiki. If there is a more elegant solution without overriding the entire CSS of
Xwiki, I'd like to know.

Greetings,

In the mean time, to make the links work you can add manually (hoping that it's
not so much), the escape to the link labels:
[[file:~~/~~/svivm01/sharepoint_layouts$file:/svivm01/sharepoint_layouts$]]

btw,

[[file://svivm01/sharepoint_layouts$file:/svivm01/sharepoint_layouts$]]

anchor in anchor (see the issue related to the 4470).

Hi,

2009/9/23 Vincent Massol vinc...@massol.net

1. The F in FAQ stands for frequently, so a split betwenn FAQ
  and
  QA may be useful.
2. 204 Questions without any structuring? (compare to e.g. the ant
  link above)
3. 73 unanwered FAQs?

Re FAQ vs QA, yes we have this ambiguity. It's a wiki and people adds
their questions there instead of using the mailing list/forum as
 mentioned on the page...
OTOH if people asked themselves these questions it means others could
also ask themselves the same questions so it's not too bad.

I don't have any idea to improve this. Maybe it's just about defining
the expectations better about what users will find on this page.

I personnally would be fond of something like a voting feature.
Typical usage :
- I go to XWiki FAQ, look out for a question
- someone already asked, but no answer : I vote for it
- we could consider mosted voted questions are almost equivalent to most
frequently asked questions

Of course, you don't know if answered questions with no votes would have
been frequently asked, because there are chances people won't vote for
something already answered ... But it might remove some ambiguity.

Also, I would be interested by the rating system :

Yep, what you're describing looks a lot like the ratings plugin.

It would be great to rewrite it as a component and make it part of the
default distrib but nobody has had the time to do it so far.

Once activated it allows users to rate pages and then to sort pages based on
their rating, it's pretty cool.

[xwiki-users] Group creation fails

2009-10-09 Thread Jan Roehrich
Hello list,

I'm using a XWiki 2.0 instance where users are authenticated against an Active
Directory through LDAP.

But I want to use AD only for authentication and want to administer my group
memberships within XWiki.

The problem is, that I only have XWikiAdminGroup and XWikiAllGroup. I want to
have a third group EditGroup where I put users who are allowed to edit pages. On
the XWikiPreferences page I try to add a group and a modal dialog pops up. But
after giving the group name and pushing the Create-button, nothing happens. The
dialog does not close and it seems that actually no HTTP Request is sent to the
server. Pushing the cancel button closes the dialog but - of course - no group
is created.

Hope somebody can give me any hints.

Thanks in advance

I've tried creating a new group on a fresh 2.0 instance and it worked

Can you try force-refreshing the page and see whether it still happens

If that still doesn't work, can you tell us more about your configuration /

[xwiki-users] [XE 2.0] Live Table : not filtering multiple-valued fields

2009-10-09 Thread Jeremie BOUSQUET
Hello,

I'm using the (fantastic) new live tables to display components of a certain
class.
Everything works well, except for one thing - but functionality may be
discutable...

One of the fields of my class is of type Static List, is displayed as
checkboxes and has multi-select activated.
This field is correctly displayed in live table, with type : list, and
all checked values are displayed separated by a space character (not that
good though, if some of the values contain spaces...).
Problem is for sorting and filtering :
- filtering on a value just leaves the table as it is (displays all entries)
[Note : it seems in 2.0-RC2, filtering this kind of field removes all
entries]
- sorting table on this field just changes order, but with no link to values
(no link I could infer).

I believe sorting a multi-valued field is not really a good idea, and I
wonder what to expect. As order of values is kept, it might have a sense
maybe. But filtering would be helpful though. I think a line should be
retained if one of the values matches the filter.

Except for this case, the live table works perfectly well.

WDYT ? (did not find any jira about that, maybe missed it).

Jeremie

You definitely can't do that. The default configuration for HSQL is to
use in-memory tables. All that data can't fit in the memory you've
configured. You'd have to switch to a different database.
