Re: [xwiki-users] Diagram Application

2014-10-28 Thread Hamster
Yes, I am aware that this extension is not supported by the XWiki Dev Team.

Thing is, I lack the skills to fix the problems myself, so the only thing I
can do is report them and hope that someone does fix the issues. But when
times passes by...and the bugs aren't fixed...the app remains unuseful...

So here's me again, hoping that things get fixed. Or otherwise I would like
to suggest that the XWiki teams *removes* the application from the XWiki
Extensions. There's no use in keeping extensions in that list when the
application is broken (which it is right now).

Re: [xwiki-users] [ANN] XWiki 6.3 Milestone 2 released

2014-10-28 Thread Dmitry Bakbardin

Thank you for the next release!
Nice to see this feature in the XWiki.
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/ReleaseNotes/ReleaseNotesXWiki63M2#HMiscellaneous-1

Would also be nice to have an option to implement multiple choice both in
deleting and restoring pages. To do this one by one sometimes too problematic.

The XWiki development team is proud to announce the availability of XWiki
6.3 Milestone 2.

This milestone brings a couple of improvements to Extension Manager, Panels
Application and the Space Deletion UI, together with a couple of developer
oriented features such as a JSON service for Solr and a better and cleaner
(HTML5-friendly) way of storing and obtaining in JavaScript information
about the current document.

Also, 31 bugs were fixed in this release, so this makes it yet another
reason to upgrade and try it out.

You can download it here: http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download

Actually what we would like to do is to have a rating system on
extensions.xwiki.org to let people rate extensions and to have the rating in
the livetable so that you can also sort by rating.

This should normally lead to having non-working or suboptimal extensions go
down. It also allows any user to see the rating for an extension they choose.

It would be like any known app store: app store, google play, etc.

Now regarding the Diagram app, you’re being unfair. I’ve taken the time to
install it and it worked well: I could create a diagram and save it.

So it’s not because one use case doesn’t work (AFIU it’s an IE issue only:
http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XADIAGRAM-7 ) that the whole app should be thrown
away, discarding all the work done by whoever published it. That’s not very
respectful of the extension’s creators...

What can and should be done is mention on the page of that extension what
doesn’t work so that users can know about it. I’ve now added such a section
listing all open issues:
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Diagram+Application#HKnownIssues

Thanks

Those are great ideas!

As for the Diagram Application itself...I will wait and hope that someone
has the time to fix those issues...

[xwiki-users] LESS CSS in flamingo based site...

2014-10-28 Thread Gerritjan Koekkoek
Hi,

Thanks for clarification.
Our site used multiple color themes, basically because we are a federation
of organizations.
We changed colorThemeInit.vm to do this.

basicly it works, but when in a stylesheetextension:
#template('colorThemeInit.vm') #disclaimer h3 {background-color:
$theme.menuBackgroundColor;}

We always get the color of the default site color theme and not the color
theme that is loaded on the page?
Any solution?

Yes the LESS compiler is running on the server, except for the preview box
of the Flamingo Theme Application.

You should be able to put any valid LESS code in the advanced section of
that application.

For example, if you want to set a bootstrap variable that the application
does not handle, you could add:

@modal-content-bg: red;

But you can also add new CSS classes, like:
.myClass{
background-color: red;
}
and this class can use LESS functions and bootstrap mixins:
.myClass{
background-color: darken(red, 10%); // LESS function
.make-xs-column(12); // Bootstrap mixin
}

And the class will be added to the default style.css. I am updating
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Flamingo+Theme+Application

I hope this helps,

 Does the Less to CSS preprocessor in the Flamingo themes app run on the
 server?
 What documentation is available (or examples of what kind of Less code can
 be entered in the Advanced Less box?
