I’ve re-enabled your membership for you (you can probably do that by yourself
by sending some commands but I’m not sure how TBH).

I also went through the full users list and re-enabled all email addresses that
were no receiving emails because of bounces, just in case (there were 4 only).

We’re also having lots of issues recently because of DMARC policy change from
yahoo. See http://markmail.org/message/5zpzp6pflgcb2duj

Note sure if your problem is related to this or not though.

We started discussing solutions and one of them would be to switch from
managing our lists ourselves with mailman and moving to some other tools such
as Google Groups. This discussion is still going on but we probably need to
hurry up a bit…

Re: [xwiki-users] How to manually migrate a page to Nested Pages?

2016-12-14 Thread Thomas Mortagne
The only difference between final and nested page visually is that, as
the name suggest, the final pages are not supposed to have children.
On the technical/script/API side the difference is that nested page
documents real names always ends with ".WebHome" suffix (i.e. it's the
home document of a space while final pages are just actual documents).

How the breadcrumb is generated is controlled by a preference (which
match the URL by default) and it has nothing to do with final vs
nested page.

In practice, the only problem of not migrating to Nested Pages is that a
page may have a different breadcrumb path than the URL path. Migrating to
Nested Pages, the URL path remains the same as the breadcrumb. It is?

2016-12-14 Thread Marius Dumitru Florea
Hi Julio,

You don't need to migrate individual wiki pages. You can continue to access
and edit them as before. The Nested Pages Migrator Application is useful if
you want to migrate from the old Parent-Child *hierarchy* to the new
Nested-Pages *hierarchy*. Otherwise, if you just want to add child pages to
an existing page that is not a space home page (in the old terminology)
then you can simply rename that page in order to make it "non-terminal".
See
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Features/DocumentLifecycle#HMove2FRename
. There's a note there:

"And if you're an advanced user

you'll be able to also control whether the new page will be a Terminal page
(i.e. a page that cannot have children, see also Terminology
)
or not"

Hope this helps,
Marius

What alternatives to the default Gaptscha can be used? And how?

I like the 'I am not a robot' checkboxes that we see on more and more sites.

Our users complain about the read-ability of the current XWiki Gaptscha version

The document tree doesn't have this parameter, and it's not suited for your
use case anyway. I would use the Query Manager to retrieve the most recent
pages. Look for 'List all nested documents in the space "Space"' on
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Query+Module#HQueryLanguageExamples
, but take into account the issue described at
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Query+Module#HFindingpagesundernestedpages
.

- replace my target /Main/SpaceIndex?space=MySpace by ... ???
>

On
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/ReleaseNotes/ReleaseNotesXWiki72#HFlamingo
there is this mention:

"A new "children" viewer is now accessible in the "more actions" menu,
along with the other viewers."

The URL is /xwiki/bin/view/Path/To/Page/?viewer=children . It uses a live
table. If you want a tree instead then there is
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Children+Macro/ .

Hope this helps,

Indeed, this is the line in the doc:

"Also note that when installed with the Extension Manager, the extension needs

Maybe it should be more visible? ;)

Actually the EM should probably be more explicit about it and provide more

[xwiki-users] query on all comments of a document

2016-12-14 Thread [IDIS Technical Secretariat] Ricardo Rodríguez
Hi! I happily use comments to add somehow structured information to
documents. The most frequent case is to add new "tagged" attributes to
documents holding instances of the XWiki.XWikiUsers class. I'm sure there
must be better ways of doing that, but I've had no time yet to go deeper
into them, and I keep surviving that way.

What I'm not able to do is to select a set of documents not containing a
given string in any of the instances of XWiki.XWikiComments. Doing this...

select doc.fullName from Document as doc, doc.object(XWiki.XWikiComments)
as note where doc.parent like '%XWikiIDIS%' and length(doc.parent)=19 and
doc.parent not like '%Area%' and doc.parent not like '%Committee%' and
doc.parent not like '%Metagroup%' and doc.name not like '%Evidences%' and
doc.name not like '%OI' and doc.parent not like '%DirectionBoard%' and
doc.translation = 0 and note.comment not like '%IDIS Group Leader%' order
by doc.parent"

I get as many entries of each document as comments not containing '%IDIS
Group Leader%' are held by that document. But, please, how could I get one
entry for each document not containing that string in any of its comments?

Thanks for your help!

This is an extension and it has its own release lifecycle. It used to be
bundled in XWiki core which is why it has a “high” version number. But it’s
been extracted out of it several months ago now and has its own life.

You should not install extensions manually because that’s just too hard. You’d
need to manually copy all the dependent JARs. Using the Extension Manager is
really the recommended way.

Hi Vincent,

I deduced (possibly wrongly) that from the fact that there's only a
Markdown Syntax 8.3 extension available, and the extension manager was
not able to install said extension at all.

When I downloaded it and placed the jar into WEB-INF/libs, the container
would not even start correctly, since it was missing the
org/xwiki/contrib/rendering/markdown10/internal/parser/AbstractMarkdownStreamParser
- after building and installing the 8.3 extension of markdown 1.1, there
was a missing pegdown dependency and so on.

And since github seems to have a 8.4-SNAPSHOT-Tag on the markdown
parser, I assumed that so far, 8.4 has no support for it.

Can you maybe tell me how to install it? Or is that because I already
set markdown/1.1 as possible renderer in xwiki.properties?
