[xwiki-users] url embedded in watchlist email refers to localhost instead of assigned name

2009-10-16 Thread clay
I use xwiki-enterprise-web-1.9.3 on my local machine.
I have, in the hosts file, given localhosts an alternate name: test.info
When I get a watchlist notice in the mail, the url refers to localhost.

I've tried a couple of entries in xwiki.cfg but they had no effect.

Is there anything I can change that will make that url refer to test.info
rather than localhost?

Pasting some rendered HTML from Frontpage into the Wysiwyg, I often get

HTML clipboard

inserted into the document. It's not visible when the paste occurs. Only
after save and view.

Re: [xwiki-users] the links I see don't look like the links I posted

2009-09-03 Thread clay
Marius,

Thanks for responding.
Sorry I'm just now getting back online.

I'm in IE8 compatibility mode right now.
I copied the text enclosed by the comments where 'positive reviews' is a web
link:

/*
published by Gotham Books, is getting some positive reviews.

Murray points out that
*/

and pasted it into the WYSIWYG editor which is also in IE8 compatibility
mode.

After 'Save and View' I get the same results as before:

Display:

Copying Pasting the link only gives the same results (displayed).

Repeating in a new, empty page gives the same results (displayed).

I don't use Safari. I have Firefox 3.5  Chrome 2.0.172.43. Sometimes Chrome
is ID'ed as Safari so that may have been what I was using when I first
posted.

Just pasted the link only in Firefox. New, empty page. No problems.
Pasted link with surrounding text in Firefox. New, empty page. No problems.

The WYSIWYG editor did not display any toolbar buttons in Chrome so I
couldn't test it there.

One thing I might add is that when I first encountered this, one of the
things I tried was using Syntax 1.
I haven't gone back to confirm it but I got the impression that the process
was more reliable in that Syntax.
That's just a hunch though. If you want me to try it out I will.

[xwiki-users] simple email set up

I needed to set up an email address. I was really dismayed that it wasn't
just a change my account settings type task.

Are there any plans, or is there a way, to make specifying an email address
a more end-user friendly task?

Re: [xwiki-users] Configuring XWiki as ROOT webapp

2009-08-23 Thread clay

I've got my xwiki at http://localhost/bin/

My ROOT.xml context
1) omits the docbase attribute (it was the cause of a persistent gripe from
tomcat)
2) sets path to (that is the option that got it done actually)

These were my guides:
tomcat/webapps/docs/config/context.html
tomcat/webapps/docs/config/host.html

My first try, changing the xwiki.cfg option
xwiki.webapppath=/
just caused me a lot of grief.

Trevor-3 wrote:

 it with localhost:8080 instead of localhost:8080/xwiki (referencing

 I had XWiki working properly first, following the original instructions
 (expanding the WAR to /usr/share/tomcat5.5/webapps/xwiki).

 Then I renamed xwiki to ROOT
 I created a ROOT.xml file in /usr/share/tomcat5.5//conf/Catalina/localhost
 as follows:

 Context path=/ docBase=/usr/share/tomcat5.5/webapps/ROOT
 debug=0 privileged=false allowLinking=true
 /Context

 and restarted Tomcat.

 Now when I go to localhost:8080 I get
 Connection Interrupted
 The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

 and get redirected to
 http://127.0.0.1:9080/xwiki/bin/Main/ThisWikiDoesNotExist

 Am I missing something?
