I am able to successful connect to the xwiki database using a database client. 2) Downloaded and extracted the Apache Geronimo 3.0.0 ZIP file 3) Placed the dependency JAR files in the appropriate directories inside the Geronimo repository directory. 4) Created a geronimo-web.xml file and copied-and-pasted the complete sample file contents provided at http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationGeronimo . Re: [xwiki-users] Xwiki Enterprise 4.3 fails to start on Apache Geronimo 3.0
I believe that Geronimo uses Log4j for logging. Aside from configuring Log4j to be used by a Java web application that I wrote, I've never implemented a log manager before so I don't know much about loggers. I'll look into it. Thank you. But as Vincent said you will get a degraded XWiki so the best in your case is to make sure Geronimo is letting XWiki use logback. Either that or provide an XWiki log manager implementation for whatever log system Geronimo (i.e. convert https://github.com/xwiki/xwiki-commons/tree/master/xwiki-commons-core/xwiki-commons-logging/xwiki-commons-logging-logbackto a Geronimo version) is using which would be even nicer ;) Thank you.
