*Location: Kansas City, MO* *Pay: $55/hr* *Interview: Phone & Skype* Job description: The Software Engineer/Contractor is responsible for the overall design and quality of Cerner's enterprise data warehouse and reporting software. Applicant must be an expert on the concepts of Databases/Data Warehousing, including expertise of how to develop, design, manage, and administer the platform at the highest level and scalability. The Software Engineer/Contractor must have an in-depth understanding of requirements and software engineering domains. Also, this position will need to be able to design, code, and test in the enterprise data warehouse (Oracle Exadata) and business intelligence applications. This position requires working with clients to interpret business objectives and to understand their reporting needs. Candidate must have strong SQL writing skills, debugging techniques and should be able to define ETL/ELT standards, best practices, batch processing, bulk loading, initial data capture, change data capture, implementation process, identifying re-usability, cloud integration. The Software Engineer/Contractor is accountable for the quality of the projects delivered in the business intelligence application/platform. Development includes designing Oracle data warehouse structures, building ETL/ELT processes within Dell Boomi and Informatica, assembling the logical layer of OBIEE. Applicant should have expertise on data integration of relation/hierarchical data sources from databases or APIs with good understanding of Rest/Soap protocols.
