*Job Overview:*
*Must Have: *
*1. **Strong troubleshooting experience with performance concepts
(i.e. application capacity, familiarity with infrastructure architecture,
root cause analysis, etc.)*
*A. **Hands-on application performance and production support
experience for Java/Linux applications*
*2. **UNIX/Linux automation scripting experience (i.e. JavaScript,
Shell, Perl, Python, etc.); monitoring capabilities within a Linux
environment; ability to analyze logs*
*A. **Ability to use Linux command line tools to parse, merge, analyze,
and present performance data through log file or real-time performance
metrics.*
*3. **Experience with Java (understand application server architecture
i.e. Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, etc. and JVM monitoring, troubleshooting i.e.
ability to analyze Java threads and analyze bottlenecks, etc.)*
*A. **Ability to monitor and debug Java application servers *
*Nice-to-have: *
*1. **Experience performance testing using JMeter or load testing
(i.e. Load Runner) for multi-tier web applications*
*Day-to-day: *
- *On-boarding performance monitoring tools for GCRM applications.*
- *Build performance dashboards through Splunk, writing JavaScript
and customized scripts.*
- *Define and create performance alerts based on performance
threshold*
- *Work with application team and production support team to
troubleshoot production performance and reliability issues*
- *Study and understand application characteristics including
business demand drivers, transaction metrics, utilization and
response time
requirements*
- *Create a capacity baseline and establish a repeatable process to
track capacity for new/existing application data collection and
formatting.*
- *Maintaining data repository data correlation and trending.*
- *Report any abnormal trends*
- *Using monitoring tools to track everyday data and gather
additional information required based on need*
- *Capacity and gather requirements for forecasting. *
