System Administration
location:
*Southfield MI*
Duration: 6+Months

Responsibilities:
The System Administrator will be responsible for monitoring and
troubleshooting Covisint’s products and solutions within a 24x7
environment. They will have a solid understanding of Unix, Windows, Linux
systems and system relationships to identify problem sources concerning
system operations. They will communicate with system users to identify,
explain and resolve problems. This is a fast paced work environment that
requires an individual who is capable of multi-tasking while maintaining an
exceptional work output level.
*Daily Responsibilities: *
· Perform routine and pro-actively monitor the server/system health to
ensure minimal to no downtime.
· Troubleshoot and respond accordingly to host, application and network
issues. Tasks may include application restarts, taking heap & thread
dumps, resolving networking issues etc.
· Analyze application/system performance and recommend corrective actions.
· Assist with implementation and maintenance of system and application
monitors.
· Support server “Virtualization” and the corresponding technologies; i.e.
Zen, VmWare
· Work with engineering and other operations teams to identify and
troubleshoot operational and performance related issues.
· Plan and execute the installation and the configurations of Linux/Unix
server operating environments, including any supporting software.
· Manage and maintain documentation as it relates to all aspects of the
job duties.
· Manage the incident management process. Managing support calls and
logging all details of incidents and perform follow-up through to
resolution on all incidents.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5+ years of computer operations experience supporting UNIX &
Linux System and Storage Administration. Windows experience is a plus.
· Ability to learn new complex technologies quickly.
· Ability to develop scripts (Bash)
· Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team.
· Ability to operate within a fast paced and challenging work environment.
· Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24x7x365 environment.
· Knowledge of ITIL process is a plus.
· Experience with incident management systems.
· Bachelor degree strongly preferred.
