Re: How to create message (filter) rule?
vpopmail does not user maildrop for delivery, so it never sees the .mailfilter. Perhaps if we complain loudly enough someone will think of a way to make vpopmail use maildrop rules or something similar. Also sqwebmail only creates the rules to deliver to a relative directory, since vpopmail users home is ~vpopmail the delivery will never work. It would need a absolute path. - Original Message - From: "Le Van Chi" [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: "Johan Almqvist" [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 12:45 AM Subject: Re: How to create message (filter) rule? Dear Johan Almqvist, Thank you for your guide. However I still cannot get mail filters worked. My configuration include qmail (/var/qmail), vpopmail (/home/vpopmail), sqwebmail, maildrop (/usr/local/bin/maildrop) my /var/qmail/rc : exec env - PATH="/var/qmail/bin:$PATH" \ qmail-start '|dot-forward .forward | /usr/local/bin/maildrop ./Maildir/' my /usr/local/share/sqwebmail/maildirfilterconfig : MAILDIRFILTER=../.mailfilter MAILDIR=./Maildir When I try to create a mail filter in sqwebmail, the filter rule is created successfully. I can see sqwebmail creating a .mailfilter file in /home/vpopmail/domains/fsps.com/a1/. The only thing is that when I sent an email to test the rule, It does not seem to have any effect. Do I miss any configuration step? /var/qmail/users/assign
I've installed my qmail with a rpm and apparently there's a cronjob that rebuilds the assign file from the /etc/passwd file, destroying the vpopmail info. My problem is I don't have a glue who is the owner of the cronjob. I've tried doing crontab -l for all the qmail* in the /etc/passwd including root but none has a cronjob. Can anyone please tell me how could I remove the cronjob or if there's any solution to this. Thanks, James

Like I said it needs an absolute path. edit your .mailfilter file and change the reference from "./Maildir/.lists.vchkpw/." to "/home/vpopmail/domains/indochinanet.com/chi.lv/Maildir/.lists.vchkpw/." -Original Message- From: Le Van Chi [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 5:52 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: How to create message (filter) rule? from mysql to ldap
i have some question about ldap authentication : - i would like to know the benefit of ldap authentication compared to mysql authentication - right now i'm using mysql, if i want to use ldap auth. should i move my user from mysql to ldap ? how to do it ? - is there any effect to sqwebmail and qmailadmin ? thanks for your help, it's nice if you also tell me how 'the taste' of ldap is.
qmail+vpopmail problem
Alright, I'm a bit new to the qmail world, but I'm pretty sure I've got the qmail part of my system setup correctly. I have installed vpopmail and have no problems adding or deleting domains and users. (no errors) When I try to send an e-mail to one of the addresses that I create, I get: xxx@xx:Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)I've been told to go back and re-read the install info for vpopmail, and nothing is jumping out at me. My first instincts were that it had something to do with qmail itself, but I've been assured that its something with my vpopmail configuration. I can check and send mail to accounts that are listed in /etc/passwd. Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious, but I'm not seeing it. Thank you, Eli Katzenmeyer
RE: qmail+vpopmail problem
I actually just had an error like that if the domain is setup in /var/qmail/control/locals then it'll look at it as a local domain, not virtual it'll look at the system accounts (/etc/passwd)not the virtual accounts -Original Message-From: MATC - Mail [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 11:54 PMTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: qmail+vpopmail problem Alright, I'm a bit new to the qmail world, but I'm pretty sure I've got the qmail part of my system setup correctly. I know that by default the senders actual ip is sent, but this is also showing the full local hostname / email address of the sender. I could see how it would be annoying to start getting mail for your business to your home local isp. In my case, I dont even use my local isp mail, so if someone responded to something like that, I wouldnt even get the mail. Could make for people thinking I'm ignoring them. Why would they go through Received: headers to get in touch with you? That's just a bizarre concept. -Kit
