vqadmin problem

2001-07-24 Thread Kim L. Christensen

Hi
I have a problem with vqadmin v 1.6
I am getting to the login screen but then nothing happens.
I have tried the vqadmin list but no response so far. Maybe
some from this list can help.

My error message is:
test: not a valid FDN: /cgi-bin/vqadmin/vqadmin.cgi

What does it mean?

MailDrop filter- PLEASE help

2001-07-24 Thread Mike Rogers

Can anyone tell me why this isn't working??? Substitute vpopmailhome for
my vpopmail homedir. I can't figure this one out- been on it for ages. I'm
trying to use maildrop but failing miserably. Basically (50 and 6000 are
test values and are low), I want to block large messages for one or two
users who have requested it- any thoughts?

Thanks in advance;

Re: vpopmail+uw-imap+qmail

2001-07-24 Thread KK

Hello -

I tried both user@hostname as well as just the user name user, user1 etc.,
but nothing seems to work. Following are the options I had used while
configuring vpopmail:

--enable-default-domain=myserver.com
--enable-large-site=y
--enable-mysql=y
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
--enable-auth-logging=y
--enabe-logging=y
--enable-sqwebmail-pass=y
--enable-sqldir=path to mysql include folder
--enable-sqllibdir=path to mysql lib folder
--enable-hardquota=10
--enable-ucspi-tcp-0.88=path to ucspi-tcp-0.88 installation folder
--enable-passwd=n

After installation I noticed that vpopmail hasn't created the files
vpasswd and vpasswd.cdb in the folder
path_to_vpopmails_home_directory/domains/my_email_domain.com

Following is the script lines from the qmail supervise run script:
#!/bin/sh
exec/usr/local/bin/softlimit -m 200\
/usr/local/bin/tcpserver -V -R -H -l 0 0 110 /var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup
\
my_email_domain.com/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw -u89 -g89
/var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d Maildir 21

Hope to get some clues.Thanks.

Kind regards.

additional variables in open.smtp

2001-07-24 Thread Alex Kramarov

Hello.

I am using qmail with the qmailqueue patch, and vpopmail
with --enable-roaming-users=y, and i have to add qmailqueue variable to the
default set of relayclient, rblsmtp and others. i have done it by editing
vpopmail.c and changing

fprintf( fs1, %s:allow,RELAYCLIENT=\\,RBLSMTPD=\\ %d\n,

to

fprintf( fs1,
%s:allow,RELAYCLIENT=\\,QMAILQUEUE=\bin/myfiletorun\,RBLSMTPD=\\
%d\n,

i hope it is possible to add some configure option
(--add-roaming-variable-string for example) that will do this on configure.
i would do this myself, but i am on this list for a long time and i heard
all that stuff about compatibility in all the vpopmail implementations (cdb,
mysql, ldap) and i don't know where to change (and i cant also check of my
changes are working) the other implementations code.

Re: Closing an account when a customer hasn't paid?

2001-07-24 Thread Mike Rogers

Easy methods:

1.They don't get mail while not paying:
1.remove the line from /var/qmail/control files. it doesn't see
it as local, but the passwords and existing usernames/messages exist.
2.move the password file (or dump and delete the MySQL rows) for
the domain. Mail coming in will not be recieved and they will not be able
to authenticate. Since they can't authenticate, they can't open a relay.
2.They DO get mail while not paying:
1.simply backup the password file and make a simple awk or sed
script to change the password field to maybe 'haha' or something. Of
course, who knows what encrypted string that is, so unless they are really
___REALLY___ lucky, they won't be able to login to get their mail. They
will however still receive mail [useful for 'payment is in the mail'- you
don't want your customers business failing because you lost their big
contract and big client] and it will queue up on the server and be there
when you do get paid. When you get paid, copy the password file back and
you're set. Be sure to run ./vmkpasswd after any changes if you use CDB
files. On SQL, this is easier, as you can just make an update where
domain=domain.com password=haha or something like that.

These are valid solutions. THey make sense and work quite well. Your
alternate is to maybe place a file in the domain directory. If it exists,
it should not allow anything to happen for the domain... this of course
requires a code hack

Cheers- Hopefully good temporary solutions

 Hi,

Is there an easy way to close a domain temporarily, allowing me to shut
off
all incoming and outgoing mail when a customer hasn't paid? - It would be
cool if you could send a message to people when they log on via pop3
saying
Pay up or ship out :-)

Daniel,

Something I would check would be the script you call qmail with. If you
were using standalone qmail before, you might have it using something
other than vhckpw for the password authentication. *shrug* Just a

MySQL passwords..

2001-07-24 Thread Steve Fulton

I switched on the MySQL clear-text password option, and while I can now see
there is a clear text password in the table, there is also an encrypted.
So, my question is simple: Which does vpopmail actually read? Is it
possible to tell it to read one, but not the other?

Daniel,

Well here's what I have and it works. You should also make sure that the

You stop by: ./filename stop

You'll have to edit this as needed.

#!/bin/sh

 snip.

All WAY too much work. Use the power that vpopmail gives you.

 ns3:~ 4% /RAID/vpopmail/bin/vmoduser
vmoduser: usage: [options] email_addr or domain (for the entire domain)
 options: -n (don't rebuild the vpasswd.cdb file)
  -u (set no dialup flag)
-d (set no password changing flag)
-p (set no pop access flag)
-w (set no web mail access flag)
-i (set no imap access flag)
  -b (set bounce mail flag)
-r (set no external relay flag)
-c comment (set the comment/gecos field)
  -x (clear all flags)

vmoduser the user and set the -p flag. Then they're email will continue
to
queue up, but they can't POP in to get it until they pay up. If they go
delinquent long enough (see company policy) then vdeluser them!

If they pay, vmoduser -x to reset them to be able to pop.

 Hope this helps.

contract and big client] and it will queue up on the server and be there
when you do get paid. When you get paid, copy the password file back
and

If it
exists,
it should not allow anything to happen for the domain... this of course
  requires a code hack

  Cheers- Hopefully good temporary solutions

Subject: Closing an account when a customer hasn't paid?

   Hi,

Is there an easy way to close a domain temporarily, allowing me to
shut
  off
all incoming and outgoing mail when a customer hasn't paid? - It would
 be
cool if you could send a message to people when they log on via pop3
  saying
Pay up or ship out :-)

   /Jesper

a way to install chkattach only one place?

2001-07-24 Thread Kman

Is there a way to install some script like chkattach in one place in
qmail+vpopmail scenario? I'd like to install that script to filter out a
virus/common spam from being sent to many virtual email accounts/domains
in our system. It's quite inconvenient to have to put the script in all
.qmail- file in every virtual domain directories.

Thanks
