I need to undestand the how is the way that vpopmail create a new account, because I need organizes the distribution of the accounts in various partitions. For example /data1 /data2 /data3 /data4, of 36 Gb each one. In this moment I have a problem of load in the disk of 120 GB, for that reason I need balance the data in various disks. Thanks. [vchkpw] vpopmail 5.3.29 vadddomain problems freebsd 5.1
Hello, I just upgraded my vpopmail 5.3.28 to 5.3.29 from ports version on a freebsd 5.1. and noticed some different behaviors from earlier vpopmails… Or something somehow I messed up at my install… example: ns1# /usr/local/vpopmail/bin/vadddomain abc.com abc Hangup ns1# The Hangup is the qmail SIGHUP ? never seen it before... ns1# ls -la /usr/local/vpopmail/domains/abc.com/ total 6 drwx-- 2 vpopmail vchkpw 512 Nov 15 08:50 . drwx-- 21 vpopmail vchkpw 512 Nov 15 08:50 .. -rw--- 1 vpopmail vchkpw 60 Nov 15 08:50 .qmail-default ns1# It not creating the postmaster account files and directories ! Only workaround is to create postmaster for the domain ns1# /usr/local/vpopmail/bin/vadduser [EMAIL PROTECTED] abc ns1# ls -la /usr/local/vpopmail/domains/abc.com/ total 16 drwx-- 3 vpopmail vchkpw 512 Nov 15 08:58 . drwx-- 21 vpopmail vchkpw 512 Nov 15 08:50 .. -rw--- 1 vpopmail vchkpw 34 Nov 15 08:58 .dir-control -rw--- 1 vpopmail vchkpw 60 Nov 15 08:50 .qmail-default -rw--- 1 vpopmail vchkpw 0 Nov 15 08:58 .vpasswd.lock drwx-- 3 vpopmail vchkpw 512 Nov 15 08:58 postmaster -rw--- 1 vpopmail vchkpw 118 Nov 15 08:58 vpasswd -rw--- 1 vpopmail vchkpw 2188 Nov 15 08:58 vpasswd.cdb All looks good, qmailadmin works…. What could be the problem ? Thank you, Andras Kende
RE: [vchkpw] pop3d logging?
It works a treat for us here. We have it running on 3 servers and its never missed a beat. You just need to run configure with --enable-relay=y I think it is from memory. I remember I had a hard time getting pop3d to log anything. This is what I ended up with, since apparently daemontools' "run" scripts have to output their messages to fd 1, but qmail-pop3d uses fd 7. Customize this to suit your own needs: #/bin/bash # This is /service/qmail-pop3d/run exec /usr/local/bin/tcpserver -H -R -u 89 -g 89 -c 60 0 pop3 \ /var/qmail/bin/qmail-popup duchess.speedfactory.net \ /home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw \ /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d-wrapper.sh \ /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d Maildir 2>&1 7>&1 #!/bin/bash # This is /var/qmail/bin/qmail-pop3d-wrapper.sh hostname="$(/home/vpopmail/bin/vipmap | grep "^$TCPLOCALIP " | cut -f2 -d ' ')" echo "qmail-pop3d: connected: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:-$TCPLOCALIP} :: from $TCPREMOTEIP" >&7 exec "$@" The log lines end up looking like this: @40003fb62c5f1d2908d4 qmail-pop3d: connected: [EMAIL PROTECTED] :: from 66.23.209.30 @40003fb62c5f2c3dc864 qmail-pop3d: connected: [EMAIL PROTECTED]@66.23.201.84 :: from 66.23.197.246 @40003fb62c6009bf2bac qmail-pop3d: connected: [EMAIL PROTECTED]@66.23.201.84 :: from 68.115.204.2 Moshe -- Moshe Jacobson http://runslinux.net AIM: Jehsom
