Scratch this and chuck it into the up-too-late file. It was a typo when I created the MySQL user. D'oh. Wonderful. Now my mistake will be eternal, for posterity, on Google. ;)

Hi all,

To those that remember me, long time no see. Nice to be back. Or more accurately, nice to be paid what I enjoy doing, again.

I've installed vchkpw on a fresh RH 7.3 box and I've run into the error in the subject line. I'm using an RPM install of MySQL 4 (server, development, client etc etc). Here's an example of the error:

vmysql: sql error[9]: MySQL server has gone away

I've reviewed the list and Google'd to no avail. A vpopmail DB and user/pass has been created. The info was manually inputted into the vmysql.h file. It compiled fine, yet I still get this error. I tried changing the MySQL socket from /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock to /tmp/mysql.sock to no avail. Any other suggestions?
