FYI, I see that several persons insist on hup qmail-send when badmailfrom is
changed. No need for this, since badmailfrom runs under qmail-smtpd and is
re-read with each connection. Edit badmailfrom, save and your done.

Btw: man qmail-control

Michael,

I'm here from Asheville too, so I thought I'd lend a hand. ;) You can
just put the email address in badmailfrom, then hup qmail-send. It'll
reject mail from just that user then. Good luck!

Is there anyway to block just a user? The offending user is coming
from att.net and I don't want to block everyone using att from sending
us mail. Thanks!

Yes, I believe you just put "@domain.com" in the badmailfrom and hup
qmail-send. It'll block all mail from that domain.

OT: badmailfrom

2001-10-01 Thread Michael French

Sorry to post this here, but I did not want to have to join the busy
qmail list and then quit just for this one question. And common, you
guys are really great at answering questions:) I have a local user
getting abusive mail from someone and I want to block them. I know with
qmail you can use the "badmailfrom" file, but can you use it to block
just a particular user or does it do a whole domain? I put the abusive
email address in there, but I can't seem to find anything in a google
search that says whether this is user based, host based, or both. Thanks
again!
