Re: vpopmail + qmail and SMTP AUTH
Hi, I haven't played with that one but it looks like it would work as well. While surfing I also noticed http://members.elysium.pl/brush/qmail-smtpd-auth/that should have the evolution of the patch you told me about. Anybody tried this one? --Valerio SantinelliDigisoft Multimedia s.r.l.http://www.digisoft-multimedia.it/ - Original Message - From: Rick Macdougall To: Valerio Santinelli Sent: Monday, November 26, 2001 5:32 PM Subject: Re: vpopmail + qmail and SMTP AUTH Hi, I use http://www.qmail.org/qmail-auth-20010105.tar.gzwhich patches qmail. Regards, Rick I use it in production without problems, as many of us do. The only thing to remember is that the user that smtp runs as should be in the vpopmail group. i.e: usermod -G vchkpw qmaild will add user qmaild to group vchkpw. Also, I think I have to use user%domain instead of user@domain for smtp-auth, but that' up to the mail client. Regards, Bill Shupp

I think netscape still requires user%domain still though. Regards, Tren. Regards, Bill Shupp
Re: vpopmail + qmail and SMTP AUTH
Thanks again for helping me out. I finally decided to use qmail-smtpd-auth that seems to be a merge of the version you told me about with some other features that were in this original package. I installed it with no problems at all and now I've got SMTP AUTH working fine. :) Thanks! --Valerio SantinelliDigisoft Multimedia s.r.l.http://www.digisoft-multimedia.it/ - Original Message - From: Rick Macdougall To: Valerio Santinelli Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, November 26, 2001 5:43 PM Subject: Re: vpopmail + qmail and SMTP AUTH Hi, I haven't played with that one but it looks like it would work as well.
