Re: VCL use movie - was Re: xcat hardware
Ehsan has been asking about seeing the functionality of VCL - and this may help. Our colleague Joseph Vaughn at Harvey Mudd College has done a Wink walkthrough which may answer a lot of questions. http://www5.hmc.edu/vcldemo.html --henry schaffer

Thank you Henry for the demonstration, it was very interesting to see the manifestation of VCL that I personally found very magnificent, especially that we have been working on it in our university (Abdelmalek Essaadi University, Morocco) but without any luck to get it to work in a testing environment and we are always in wait of your help. Cordially, Gibet Tani Hicham 2010/12/23 Ehsan Shahrokhi ehsan...@gmail.com Thanks a lot Henry,It is very useful and attractive!I appreciate you for your kindness. I wish I could compensate your kindness :) Sincerely, On Thu, Dec 23, 2010 at 7:05 PM, Henry E Schaffer h...@unity.ncsu.eduwrote: Ehsan has been asking about seeing the functionality of VCL - and this may help. Re: xcat hardware
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Ehsan, It would be better to ask xCAT related questions on the xcat-user list (xcat-u...@lists.sourceforge.net), but as far as I know, it can control bladecenters and anything that can be controlled via IPMI. VCL only uses xCAT to do kickstart installs, and to capture and deploy images on bare metal systems. It does not use any of xCAT's virtualization features. VCL does not officially support any other cluster management toolkits at this point. You could write your own provisioning module to support whatever toolkit you would like. I have heard of some work on a provisioning module to use Amazon EC2.
