Well, it seems to work with live TV, but for replay it does not. At least I am unable to see any evidence of VDR looking up the language codes. Is there an alternative method VDR uses when replaying compared to the one used with live TV? Please check whether the info.vdr file in your recording contains lines like X 3 03 ger deutsch The info.vdr contains the following: X 3 11 fin X 1 01 fin X 2 03 esl The subtitles menu contains options No subtitles, fin and 50. And does the 50 track actually contain subtitles? If so, in what language? Klaus Track 50 does contain Spanish subtitles and replaying them works perfectly. It is just the subtitle menu option which has a wrong label. -Petri Does it work if you add the line X 3 11 esl to the 'info.vdr' file of that recording? As to why that line isn't in there to begin with, I don't know. Maybe you can make some recordings and explicitly verify whether the subtitle tracks are correctly listed in the info.vdr files. And if they are not, try to find out why. A good starting point for some debug output would be SetTrackDescriptions() in vdr.c.
