The log has nothing special in it..

connect from 127.0.0.1, port 43821 - accepted
closing SVDRP connection

You could have a point about the xine-thing.. I have set the xine
USE-flag in my gentoo make.conf file.. I'll remove that, and recompile
the whole thing. let's see if that would work..

No joy.. removing all xine-stuff and recompiling vdr did not help at all...

I have /bin/bash set as login-shell for the VDR-user.. I guess it's that
what you mean.

What should it be? /bin/sh? And how should i change that? Is it anything
else i should do than changing it in /etc/passwd and restart vdr?
