Re: [vdr] [ANNOUNCE] VDR version 2.2.0 released - Celebrating 15 years of VDR!

2015-02-22 Thread Bernard Jaulin
Hi Klaus and VDR community,

Thank you for this release.
As you know, VDR is like a wine that will age well !
I use it without moderation :-)

Cheers,

Bernard.

2015-02-20 16:36 GMT+01:00 VDR User user@gmail.com:

Some reader comments in that article seemed to suggest that VDR is
 becoming
obsolete due to streaming services and RaaS cloud services
(recording-as-a-service). Those readers seem to forget two important
 issues:
  privacy, and availability of service.

Add preference to that list as well. Streaming tv isn't making
anything obsolete, it's simply another option to choose from. VDR has
nothing to worry about, I have no doubt we'll continue to celebrate
 development milestones and anniversaries.

Dear French VDR community,

Please have a look to the last fr_FR.po file on this link

Any comments are welcome, especially on binary/adaptive skip.

Cheers.

In order to help translators coordinate their work (and avoid duplicate
work) for the upcoming VDR 2.2.0, I have set up the directory

   ftp://ftp.tvdr.de/vdr/Developer/Translations

which contains the latest version of all VDR core *.po files.
The file Untranslated in this directory contains a list of
all the *.po files that still contain untranslated texts, each
followed by the number of missing translations.
 These are currently

 ar.po: 54
 ca_ES.po: 54
 cs_CZ.po: 54
 da_DK.po: 187
 el_GR.po: 250
 es_ES.po: 54
 hr_HR.po: 187
 nn_NO.po: 315
 pt_PT.po: 82
 ru_RU.po: 54
 sk_SK.po: 54
 sl_SI.po: 55
 sr_RS.po: 54
 tr_TR.po: 187
 uk_UA.po: 3
 zh_CN.po: 54

I will update these files as translations come in.
If you are considering to contribute translations, please use these
 files as your starting point.

The countdown for VDR version 2.2.0 is running, so translations can
only be adopted until next Wednesday, February 19.

Thanks to all translators for their support!

switching to a channel of another transponder (channel 7), video comes

I don't know if it works, but you can configure vdr to start with always
the same channel (which you'll never use for a
recording) so that it has to switch explicitly when starting the recording.

The program can control the output device of different ways.

Send encoded frame several times = No mean
Image will be encode as MPEG-Frame an played once with
 cDevice::DeviceStillPicture.

Send encoded frame several times = Yes mean
Image will be encode as MPEG-Frame too, and will played many times with
 cDevice::Play as endless movie.
If this function is used with a CRT monitor, the image appears better.

So my conclusion is multichannel decoding cards are not necessary for

 Hi Bernard,

When I connect one dvb receiver to my vdr box, I can record all the
 channels
that are transmitted on the same frequency. I live in the netherlands, so
I can simulanously record Nederland 1,2,3 and all the public radio
 stations.
No configuration is needed for this trick. All the recordings end up in
 separate
 files.

My DVB receiver is not even capable of filtering out one channel, so the
PC gets the complete datastream, and then throws away the data that is not
 needed.

 PCTV NanoStick 73e SE

I however do not have experience with DVB-S, only DVB-T.
