Well it can cause issues yes :-) I do have to perform backups via IP, because we are not allowed to use DNS (secure reasons), so its ok for a small number, but if you have no name resolution (DNS), you may get a few problems :-) Regards Simon Weaver 3rd Line Technical Support Windows Domain Administrator EADS Astrium Limited, B23AA IM (DCS) Anchorage Road, Portsmouth, PO3 5PU Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: Hampus Lind [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 04 September 2006 14:21 To: 'Ed Wilts' Cc: veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu Subject: Re: [Veritas-bu] Several seperated backup networks.. Title: Message Could look at this. http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/276941.htm Also, make sure that TRACKER.exe is not loading up on the client (assuming its Windows NT/2000/2003). this can be seen as a computer icon near the clock and if you right click you will get options to exit, start and stop netbackup service. Do you have any extra features enabled like FLASH or advance client properties enabled? About to open a support call but was wondering if any of you experts out there may know what is going on. It seems that when a backup tries to span to the second tape it fails with the aforementioned error. Seems to really only occur on this 1 backup that is about 500+ Gb which spans about two LTO2 tapes. Thanks in advance.
