It's on the FTP site. It doesn't look quite complete yet (The LiveUpdate UNIX packages have 1of3 and 2of3 but not 3of3) but it's getting there. ncftp ...ckup_Enterprise_Server pwd ftp://ftp.support.veritas.com/pub/support/products/NetBackup_Enterprise_Server/ -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 1619327553 Dec 1 09:11 NBLU_6.5.5.UNIX_2of3_337823.zip -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 1476363275 Dec 1 05:05 NBLU_6.5.5.UNIX_1of3_337822.zip -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 9416997 Dec 1 02:50 NB_VMS_6.5.5_337815.zip -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024232043008 Dec 1 02:35 NB_VLT_6.5.5_337814.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 31005696 Dec 1 02:11 NB_SNC_6.5.5_337813.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 15949312 Dec 1 02:07 NB_JAV_6.5.5.winnt.x64_337812.exe -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 39425536 Dec 1 02:04 NB_JAV_6.5.5.winnt.x86_337811.exe -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 45267456 Dec 1 01:57 NB_JAV_6.5.5.winnt.IA64_337810.exe -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 96579072 Dec 1 01:47 NB_JAV_6.5.5_337809.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 1286557184 Dec 1 00:17 NB_CLT_6.5.5_337786.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024178786816 Nov 30 22:07 NB_BMR_6.5.5_337806.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024 44867584 Nov 30 21:47 NB_BBS_6.5.5_337805.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024257189888 Nov 30 21:27 NB_6.5.5.winnt.x86_337792.exe -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024205161984 Nov 30 20:50 NB_6.5.5.winnt.x64_337791.exe -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024240439296 Nov 30 20:16 NB_6.5.5.winnt.IA64_337790.exe -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024132182528 Nov 30 19:45 NB_6.5.5.solaris_x86_337789.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024133373952 Nov 30 19:25 NB_6.5.5.solaris_337788.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024543975424 Nov 30 18:38 NB_6.5.5.rs6000_337787.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024108431360 Nov 30 17:41 NB_6.5.5.linuxS_x86_337782.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024127675392 Nov 30 17:23 NB_6.5.5.linuxS_ia64_337781.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024114434048 Nov 30 17:04 NB_6.5.5.linuxR_x86_337780.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024137396736 Nov 30 16:44 NB_6.5.5.linuxR_ia64_337779.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024124988928 Nov 30 16:23 NB_6.5.5.linux_337778.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024408509440 Nov 30 15:43 NB_6.5.5.hpia64_33.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024255306752 Nov 30 14:48 NB_6.5.5.hp_ux_337776.tar -rw-r--r-- 1 30024 30024213087232 Nov 30 14:09 NB_6.5.5.alpha_5_337775.tar ncftp ...ckup_Enterprise_Server .../Ed Ed Wilts, RHCE, BCFP, BCSD, SCSP, SCSE ewi...@ewilts.org Contact Me Linkedin http://www.linkedin.com/in/ewilts On Wed, Dec 2, 2009 at 7:47 AM, WEAVER, Simon (external) simon.wea...@astrium.eads.net wrote: Any news yet or links at all? *http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/333092.htm*http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/333092.htm Soon me hopes! Still - to answer your question, and take the slot number thing into account. for tape in `vmquery -a -l | awk '$8!=- $9!=0 $12~/OFFSITE/ {print $1}'` do eject $tape done The awk selects robotic tapes (field 8), not slot 0 (field 9), volume pool contains OFFSITE (field 12) and prints Volume ID (field 1). Note - the change from field 11 below to field 12. Field 11 is volume group, not volume pool. Mea Culpa. The eject function is left as an exercise for now. Note: it's the vmchange command. Re: [Veritas-bu] Barcode label oddity.
Greetings, It looks like when the tapes were first loaded in, the proper barcode rule for that library was not in place. The LT tapes did what I wanted but the ARF ones did not. Bob reminded me that I could delete the tapes now that I had the rule in place. I deleted the tapes and ran it again. The ARF tapes read in using the first 6. Fortunately I hadn't written anything to the physical tape yet so I didn't have to deal with the bplabel or tape headers. Thanks for all the replies. Re: [Veritas-bu] quick eject script
Maybe TLH library thing? Here is a tape in a drive: sudo ./vmquery -m s06571 media ID: S06571 media type:1/2 cartridge tape 2 (14) barcode: S06571 media description: Robot 0 RB Tapes - HCART2 volume pool: Exchange_Onsite (15) robot type:TLH - Tape Library Half-inch (12) robot number: 0 robot slot:0 robot control host:bs-nbma1 volume group: 01_000_TLH vault name:--- vault sent date: --- vault return date: --- vault slot:--- vault session id: --- vault container id:- created: Fri Apr 25 14:16:03 PDT 2008 assigned: Wed Dec 2 12:40:44 PST 2009 last mounted: Wed Dec 2 12:50:04 PST 2009 first mount: Fri May 9 06:04:48 PDT 2008 expiration date: --- number of mounts: 22 max mounts allowed:--- status:0x0 Just trying to figure out some script logic. I want the report to ignore tapes that are in a drive for a particular purpose we have. I'd do something like this... for tape in `vmquery -rn 0 -l | awk '$11~/Offsite/ {print $1}` do eject routine (lots of lines) done I actually do something much like this for offsite purposes. My eject_tapes script is 60 lines of code that looks up the library for a tape given the tape number. If the tape is in a drive, though, it just errors . I supposed I could query the library controls for the tape location (see if it's in a drive) but right now I just eat the error when it occurs. -M From: veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu [mailto:veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu] On Behalf Of Reynolds, Susan K. Eject any tapes in the OFFSITE volume pool if it is in the tape library 2. Ignore tapes in a drive (vmquery slot number =0) 3. And email the list of tapes to me with a report title and today's date Is there anything quick and easy out there like that?
