[Veritas-bu] NDMP Restore to alternate vendor filer
Hello to all, i have to restore NDMP backups (several TB) made from an EMC Celerra to a Netapp filer. I know, this kind of restore is not supported by Netbackup and all other backup software vendors. It's an issue of all the different vendor NDMP implementations. But, has someone found a practical solution for this ? Maybe with some third party products. Any hints are highly welcome Thanks in advance Roland +-- |This was sent by roland.kast...@computacenter.com via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to ab...@backupcentral.com. +-- ___ Veritas-bu maillist - Veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu http://mailman.eng.auburn.edu/mailman/listinfo/veritas-bu
[Veritas-bu] 6.5.3 DSSU Relocation Settings disappear
Hello to all, NBU 6.5.3, MasterCluster at Solaris10 VCS Cluster, 2 Media Server A/B W2K3, 2xHP EVA DSSU each 1TB. 2xDSSU A/B one on each Media Media 1TB SAN LUN. We set up the first DSSU (A) on Media A the staging schedule, final dest. Pool, Library - OK Staging is working. Now we set up the second DSSU on Media B the staging schedule, final dest. Pool, Library - The second DSSU relocation is working, but all the staging settings from the first one change back to the default setting ! We did the configuration by Win Gui, Java Gui, via command line on the master, but always the same. Only the last configured DSSU is working, on all the other former configured DSSU's the staging settings change to default. Any suggestions ? [Veritas-bu] Migrate tapes from TSM, Dataprotector to Netbackup
Hello to all, i have the challenge to migrate several hundred of LTO2 tapes witten on TSM and HP-DataProtector to Netbackup. The only way i see at the moment is, to restore all this data to a filer and doing a new backup by Netbackup. I urgently looking around for some tool which does a direct copy from tape to tape and also makes a format change from TSM/HP-DP to the Netbackup tar format. Maybe someone can point me to such a magic tool. [Veritas-bu] Re: DSU writing to Quantum StorNext SNFS filesystem, Solaris
Hello Curtis, thank you for your response. Quantum is involved in this case. Meanwhile we have done more tests, cp and GNU tar works on this snfs filesystem. Today i will try the Veritas tar, thanks for your hint. +-- |This was sent by [EMAIL PROTECTED] via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to [EMAIL PROTECTED] +-- ___ Veritas-bu maillist - Veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu http://mailman.eng.auburn.edu/mailman/listinfo/veritas-bu
[Veritas-bu] DSU writing to Quantum StorNext SNFS filesystem, Solaris
Hello, My setup: SUN V445, Solaris10, NBU Master6.0MP4 only DSU's; StorNext3.0 installed on the same server. The DSU writes the NBU images to the StorNext SNFS filesystem (1TB). At the last image we allways get Error14 (Disk write error). If the same DSU writes to an usf filesystem, everything works OK. If the Catalog backup writes via DSU to the snfs, this works. We have tested with a lot of different fragment sizes, allways the same error 14. I guess this error is somehow related to the cvfs Filesystem and the special VERITAS version of tar. Any idea to this problem ?
