The name is fmspdb3.

Btw, I've decided to increase the required_client_timeout base on the
error status = 54.
Have you or any one ever customize the setting mentioned above ?

Please kindly share your experience.

Which client name is sent from media server/client? Is this client name
hard-coded in script? Does it correspond with client name in policy?

Please check bprd log file on master. Look for incoming request from Media
server/client ip address. See in same log if master server resolves ip
address to correct client name as per the policy.

[Veritas-bu] Redirect Restore Oracle

2010-03-31 Thread moehatdee
Hi All,

Currently we are using NetBackup 6.0 and Oracle 10.

The configuration is including:
- NetBackup Master Server (6.0MP7)
- NetBackup Media Server (6.0MP7) and Oracle Agent (source backup)
- NetBackup Agent (6.0MP7) and Oracle Agent (destination restore)

The Oracle backup in Media Server is working fine and using RMAN. Then
I need to restore the Oracle of source backed up into another Oracle
Agent (destination restore).

Anyone has ever performing alternate restore to another agent, please
kindly share your experience to me how to customize the RMAN script
and requirements in the NetBackup side.

Your help is appreciated.

[Veritas-bu] Run a script for restoring Oracle database

2010-01-06 Thread moehatdee
Hi All,

The Oracle database has backed up properly using RMAN. And then I need
to restore to another Oracle server machine.

Please give me advise:
1. If I put the script in the backup selection list of NetBackup
Policy, let say restore.sh, does it work for restoring Oracle ? Just
right click the policy name and select backup manual.
2. Do you have best practice to alternate restore ?

Thanks for your advise.

[Veritas-bu] NetBackup Master Server is older than NetBackup client version

2009-12-28 Thread moehatdee
Hi all,

I want to redirect restore an oracle database using RMAN.

I have three SUN machines that configured like this:

1 machine as Master Server wiht NetBackup 6.0MP7
1 machine as Client with NetBackup and Oracle Agent 6.0MP7
1 machine as Client with NetBackup and Oracle Agent 6.5

My Question are:
- Does it work if Master Server is NetBackp 6.0 and the client is
NetBackup 6.5 ?
- Can we redirect restore a Oracle database from NetBackup 6.0 to
NetBackup 6.5 ?

I very appreciate for your advise.

[Veritas-bu] clone or duplicate tape

2008-04-15 Thread moehatdee
Hi Dears,

Does NetBackup 6.5 able to clone a tape automatically after completing
a backup as EMC NetWorker did?.

As EMC NetWorker we can configure in the Group properties by clicking
the clone box option. Clone will run automatically when Group is
completed.

In NetBackup 6.5, how to do it?
Please kindly share your experience.
