[Veritas-bu] bprecover from 32bit-64bit x86_64?

2008-05-05 Thread Justin Piszcz
Has anyone done this before? Were there any issues?

Plan: RHEL3 A/S - RHEL5 x86_64

Since RHEL5 has binary compatibility enabled in the kernel for 32bit I
would not think so but just wanted to check?

Justin.

[Veritas-bu] bprecover question / 5.1MP6 (media-master server)

2007-12-06 Thread Justin Piszcz
Hello,

In the past I have used bprecover on an all-in-one master server, where
the robot and tape drives were connected to the master.

In my test, I have destroyed the master server.

I have re-installed NetBackup 5.1MP6 (what I am testing with).

On the media server now, I am trying now from a media server with the
following command:

# for I in `seq 3`; do ./bprecover -r $I -tpath /dev/st/nh0c0t1l0 -d
hcart2 -dhost master-server ; done
Recovering master-server:/usr/openv/netbackup/db to host
master-server
Recovering master-server:/usr/openv/volmgr/database to host
master-server
Recovering master-server:/usr/openv/var to host master-server
#

However, nothing is actually restored on the master server, no policies,
no client images, has anyone recovered from this type of situation before?

Justin.

Found the problem, the installation path (including symlink/etc) must be
exactly the same after you re-install NetBackup.

Then it worked.

[Veritas-bu] BPRECOVER Questions

2006-06-28 Thread Martin, Jonathan \(Contractor\)
NBU DataCenter 4.5 FP9 on Windows 2000

I just tested DR for one of my remote sites, and after running BPRECOVER on the
catalog, I can see the status of all client backups and media info, but I can't
see files in the restore app or run a Client Backups report. It seems like
some information is there but not all of it?! Any ideas? I haven't had any
issues or errors up to this point.
