Quick question: Can you change the ip address on a master server? I know you can't change the hostname, but I can't remember if you can change the ip address without any issues. You can change the IP address, just make sure that you change all references (host files, DNS) that are used by the master, media servers, and clients. Jack L. I am in the process of migrating from Solaris to an AIX lpar. In my testing environment I did a catalog recovery on an lpar with the same hostname, but a different IP. I haven't ran into any problems whatsoever, it has been running for 6 months. Jared M. Yes, you can change the IP address on a master server, we just moved our master to a new location and changed the IP address.
