Re: [Veritas-bu] NBU 6.5.5 Eject Issue.

2010-05-25 Thread Scott Jacobson
I'd be interested in knowing if anyone is seeing this issue with an SL8500
running ACSLS.

Thanks

Hello All,

I have an issue when I try to eject tapes, the process hangs but it only ejects
one tape. I am running NBU 6.5.5 on Win2k3 64x, Storagetek L700 library. Has
anybody seen or have ideas how to fix this?

Thank you,
Ulises.

Re: [Veritas-bu] NBU 6.5.5 Eject Issue.

2010-05-25 Thread Mark Phillips
We are running NBU 6.5.5 on RHEL5.
4 identical RHEL5 media servers each attached to its own DELL ML6000 tape
library, the drives being shared.
We have this issue on only one of the libraries.
After seeing this problem the firmware on all of the libraries was upgraded to
the latest version available.
The firmware upgrade didn't fix the problem.

There were no hardware errors before or after the firmware upgrade.
It's intermittent , sometimes working and there doesn't seem to be a pattern to
the failures.
On occasion we've had to resort to using robtest to get the tapes into the
access port.

Planning on going to NBU 6.5.6 in the next few weeks, maybe this will fix the
problem.

If your master server is solaris, you do not have to install solaris clients
Install only Linux clients.
Use the installation cd, not the patch

But do i have to install even the solaris clients also.

I am using the tar files for applying the 6.5.5 patch.

Any other procedure pls.

2010-02-12 Thread Rusty.Major
If all you want is the listing of the clients, you just need the directory
structure for the clients on the Master, you don't actually have to
install all the client binaries if you don't want to.

2010-02-11 Thread smpt
You have to install all the clients you want at the master server. (windows
and same platform as the master are installed by default).

Go to your master server and insert the clients DVD. Install the Linux
clients. Reinstall the 6.5.5 patch.

Netbackup 7 will install all clients from the beginning. No need to install
them separately.

Hi Forum,

We have upgraded our setup with 6.5.5. But facing certain issues like under
hardware type in Policy-Client, i am unable to get Linux etc clients. Only
PC, Solaris and Novel hardware are visible.

What can be the problem here???

Also when i query the client through HOST Properties---W2K8 R2 Clients
shows OS as UNKNOWN.

Thanks In Advance

Re: [Veritas-bu] NBU 6.5.5?

2009-12-24 Thread Spearman, David
Justin,

I have it running in my lab right now. It seems to be running quite well (in a
limited lab sort of way). I can't put my finger on anything in particular but
it feels better than 6.5.4. We are still running 6.5.3 in production because I
never could get comfortable with 6.5.4, especially with Exchange. We will
definitely be putting it in production since it is supposed to handle w2k8r2. I
haven't tested that bit yet.
