[Veritas-bu] Netbackup 5.1 adn Solaris 10
Dear All We have backup environment using Netbackup 5.1 and Master server , media server (solaris 9 and windows 2000), soon we will have solaris 10 as a media server, In the compatibility matrix, I have to upgrade netbackup 5.1 to netbackup 5.1 MP2 to support solaris 10 My question is do I need to upgrade master server and all media server to Netbackup 5.1 MP2 , or can I just upgrade master server and the new media server only? [Veritas-bu] SL8500(LTO3) and Win2003 server
Hi All, I'm doing upgrading tape library to SL8500 with LTO 3, for unix env so far running well but for win2003 SP1 even the server already can see the drive (using veritas driver) and able to run query server on lib attach ( I've tried ver 1.3 and 1.4) backup still failed 219, I've check and make sure drive mapping, I think drive mapping is ok. Do I need to install some patches on win2003 server? What patches ? Please advice... Dear KinAn, the best practise is you should use different HBA port to connecting host to disk and tape library, After you enable mpxio then you need to disable only the port connected to tape library at fp.conf file. hope this helps.. KinAn, base on my experience, since you need to enable mpxio for disk redundancy, you can't use the same port to connect to SL48, because SL48 infrastucture has daisychain between robotic and tape drive, this mean mpxio must be disable. if your SL48 has 2 tape drives, you can try to define which tape drive has daisychain to the robotic then use the another free hba port to connect to this drive... again.. dont forget to disable mpxio at fc.conf file only to hba port use for tape device. hope this help.
