Re: diff and textWrangler 3.0
Hi Rolf, I was unable to replicate this issue on my Mac. Do you get any messages in the console or any errors in Versions? Hi Frank, Whenever you see that happening again, please use Activity Monitor to sample those processes and then send the collected results our way. Hi Yoav, Please run the Console application (it's in /Applications/Utilities), then launch Versions. Are you seeing any messages being written by Versions to the console? Re: crashes after start up (every time)
Hi Joel, Do you have any crash logs resulting from that issue? If you do, please send them our way. Versions tries to check the number of changes both locally and remotely soon after having started in order to be able to display those counts in the bookmarks source list next to each working copy bookmark. This is what is probably causing Versions to crash for you, as it is trying to connect to the problematic repository shortly after you start the app. We should allow users to hold a modifier key down to make Versions disable the counting of changes as it starts up. When problems like yours occur, Versions won't be able to start up without crashing, so we should add kind of a safe boot mode for Versions, just like the mac has when you boot with the shift key down. For now you can enter this command in a terminal window: $ defaults write com.picodev.Versions CountNrOfChanges -bool NO This will disable the counting of changes and you will hopefully at least be able to work with other bookmarks or delete the problematic ones. I hope this helps. Cheers, -- João Pavão the Versions team On 2009/02/16, at 11:14, Joel Bradbury wrote: trying to do an update on a repos on a mounted sftp drive. Re: Quit unexpectedly messages
Hi Roger, We've witnessed this ourselves. It seems harmless as nothing is really crashing in Versions, but we'll be giving this issue some attention pretty soon. Thanks! Cheers, João Pavão the Versions team On Dec 4, 7:02 pm, Roger Vaughn [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Since Versions 1.0, I frequently get OS messages saying The application Versions quit unexpectedly. It doesn't seem to happen at any particular interval, but it happens several times a day, and usually when I'm running but not using Versions at all. The funny part is that after the message, Versions is still running and still works normally. There is nothing logged in any log file about this. This seems to happen only after I've put the computer to sleep with Versions running, and then woken it up again. I don't think it occurs with a fresh run of Versions, but I'm not entirely sure about that. This is not a critical issue, but it is annoying. Versions is the only app I use that behaves this way. I also never saw this behavior with the betas even though I used them the same way. I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.5 and Versions 1.0.3 build 56. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Versions group.
