Re: Completely confused on revert to rev X

2008-11-18 Thread Sam H

Yes, thank you - that's exactly what I was looking for. But even the
command line is confusing. ;) I can merge a previous revision..but..
I can never commit it. And if I change the file, I can't commit
because it's out of date. It ALWAYS wants to merge what I've changed
with the latest revisions that I DON'T want at all.

Suggestions - compare (diff) almost anywhere

2008-11-17 Thread Sam H

There are some areas that are screaming for the ability to diff.

For example: if I right click a file and choose Revert X to
Revision and the history comes up, I should be able to right
click any of those revisions and either view the full file or do a
diff with another version.

Completely confused on revert to rev X

2008-11-17 Thread Sam H

I'm totally confused by how the Revert to Revision.. feature works.

I have a file, let's say main.c, currently checked out at rev 8. I
want to revert to rev 6. So I right click on main.c, choose Revert
main.c to Revision... and double click on rev 6. Now I've got rev 6,
but if I make changes and try to commit, it says it's out of date.
So I do update, but now it's merged my changes in with rev 8 which I
don't want.

I can't even figure out how to do this via svn command line. How do I
just go back to rev 6 and commit it as rev 9?
