My daughter (38 years old) has poly-cystic kidney disease. They think that the
cysts are now in her liver and some in her lungs ( non-smoker). She is always
uncomfortable. The dr says that eventually she will need a new kidney.

Folks: I had to have two MRI's the other day. One on my lower back, and one on
my mod back. Next day, my pain management docs office called and said there is
what appears to be a cyst on your kidney. Anybody ever had one of these??? If
so, what did they do about it??? I have to see my urologist about it on Nov.
11th. I was reading Web med and it said that one common option is to stuck a
needle into the cyst, draw out the inner fluid, then inject an alcohol solution
into the center of the cyst, and hopefully that will harden, and stop the
growth of the cyst. I'm going Monday to get a copy of the report myself from
the MRI place because you know how doc's are. They don't tell you nothing. It
could be the size of a pea, or the size of a grapefruit. I have been having
some pain on and off in my kidney area, but thought it was pulled muscles from
all the heavy lifting I have been doing lately remodeling our new place.
Anyway, if they do the needle thing, do they at least sedate you first??? etc.
This ain't been my week. First, a great friend and my daughter's former band
director found out he has cancer, then two days ago, we found out that a 32
year old girl that my wife and I both used to teach in Sunday school had died
from rectal cancer, which spread throughout her body. Then, another one of my
wife's brother just found out he has stage 4 lung cancer this last week. And
now, I find out I have something growing on my kidney. The doc told my they
THINK it is a cyst, but won't know until they do some more testing etc. That's
all I needed to hear this week of all weeks after all those other friends news
this week. Thanks, Chuck
