Hi Gary,
Good to hear from you sport. Yep I remember the photos Byard put out of his
dining room table covered in boxes of flys :-) I did 1 and 2 and still
have the hooks Byard got as a sample from one of the suppliers he used.
That was a great forum. I till have all the swap flies from all the swaps
we did. Tied copies but never used any of the flies. Did you do the Beer
Swap? Tie flies based on a local brew and send it in along with Beer
coasters. I ran that swap and it was such a great variety. DonO's Cherry
Bomb was literally that!!!
The only regret I have is not ever being able to get out to the Sowbug show
Tony Spezio ran. Could'nt afford it and now dont like the thought of all
the travel. Hey ho. Maybe I'll hop across the English Channel to Cologne
and see Rene!!
We should run an Old Farts Swap. No one under 50 allowed in! Hahaha
Take care
Keith

Hello Keith. Great to see your name on my screen again. I joined VFB
right at the end of the 2nd 100 Caddis swap. I guess you could call me
one of the Old Timers. More likely an Old Fart. I remember thinking
that I was glad I was not the SwapMeister sorting 10,000 flys.

Sorry to hear about your tough medical times bud and your brothers
passing. However I'm a boy from Wolverhampton in the UK and its city
motto is "Out of darkness cometh light" and your three recent additions
to the "pawpaw" duty list are exactly that. The light. Welcome to them
all.
Ive been on the list for years even before the )2 Caddis Swap. Who
remembers that little swap. A Byard special for sure. I still have the
flies from both of those mega swaps plus lots of the others we all did.
Some great guys now gone but what times they were. I worked for Orvis
(yes I know) in the UK for the last 13 years of my working life. I
retirred 2021 and they closed down all but one of the stores in 22. See
they just didnt realise how much they need me !!! :-) Now I just do
the gardening, some teaching tying and fly casting and looking after
grandkids occassionally.
Good to hear from you all.
Oh and HPPY BIRTHDAY Great Grandad!!

There happened to be a gold sematin right there and he gave my

Donate my brothers organs which either saved the lived or improved

On a better topic, two months ago we closed on a new home and are
still haven't finished moving which is a pain but we love the new
place and it's only 5-10 minuites from two city parks, which are both
stocked with bass and bluegills. And I did get to go fishing three
times last Spring and we did fish each trip. Then, three and six
months ago respectively, we welcomed two new grand daughters which
brings the total to 17 and 18 total and paw pawpaws job is to hold
and spoil them. We even have one great grand daughter. Now, I turn 65
tomorrow, but that don't seem old enough to be a GREAT grandfather
lol. Well, sorry for writing a BOOK here but trying to condense two
Yrs into one email ain't easy for a blow hard like me lol, Chuck
