[VFB] Moving west

I’m contemplating a move to the Arizona area. I’ve tried contacting Alan aka 
phoenixflytyer with no success. Just looking for info good/bad on moving to 
that part of our great country. 

Contact info for Alan or any info on the area would be very appreciated.

banned. I bailed on FB and twitter ages ago. Your information then belongs

[VFB] A quick list FYI...

Short and sweet...

If you have recently signed onto the list or have signed on with a  
new email address and you can receive messages but cannot respond.  
There IS a reason.

All new subscriptions to the list are moderated. Until it is  
determined that the subscribers are legit no posts will be allowed. I  
personally don't have the time to check for new subscribers on a  
daily basis. Sorry... but that's just the state of the union.

The primary reason for this protocol is to prevent SPAM... which  
would occur on a frequent basis without these criteria.

If any of you folks would like to take over this list monitoring  
chore, step up now. I will relinquish the helm in a heartbeat!

The topic did indeed stray off into politics and religion. Those  
topics are not appropriate for flyfishing mail lists. All they do is  
rub some folks the wrong way and the end result is [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Jerry's post was spot on and I wish I was capable of curbing you all  
with the same eloquence.

In regards to your question pertaining to prayer requests, I  
personally don't consider it a big problem. If you feel the need of  
solace from your fellow listers regarding a loved one in need, by all  
means post a note to the list. Maybe refrain from captioning the post  
as prayers needed, but instead use a bit more subtle subject. And  
please, everyone, try to respond to such requests off-list.

Personally, the only folks that I discuss matters regarding religion  
and politics are my Mom and my very few closest friends. They may  
argue with me, but they will remain my Mom and my close friends.

It is certainly much more appropriate for this list to be arguing  
about the exact shade of olive needed to tie the perfect BWO Wally- 
wing Spinner.

The only reason I have been dragged out of hibernation is due to the  
personal emails I received regarding the current political/religious  
debacle, demanding the expulsion from the list of this one for saying  
that and that one for saying this. I actually have far too many hats  
to wear at this time to don another, so you guys figure it all out.  
And by all means feel free to direct all of your opinions to me  
OFF-LIST please!

I know some of you have wondered, where's Byard?.

He's been pretty busy for the last year or so. Regrettably, most of  
it has not been flyfishing related. I've not even wet a line or tied  
a fly in the last year. I've given up demoing at the Eastern FF shows  
due to costs. Line's End is still in biz although struggling in this  
current economy.

Most of my spare time is directed towards bettering my avian  
photographic endeavors. I'm deeply involved with a local  
environmental organization, AVEO. http://keeneweb.org/aveo/ I'm  
helping with studies of breeding and migrating passerines for Antioch  
University and recently have been a participant in the first study of  
migrating Northern Saw-whet Owls in south western New Hampshire. It's  
a captivating endeavor!

Add to that, my obligations as a member of the Planning Board in  
town, a father to 2 struggling children and personal demands upon my  
time from friends, I rarely have a moment to take a breath.

Explanations intact... enough said... PLEASE direct all responses to  
me off-list.
