They had to “rebuilt” (however they do that) his left ear drum, and then, that had caused the bone right behind his ear to be filled with infection, so they had to get that stuff outta there, and then put him on high powered IV antibiotics. He’s doing great so far. Doc says just making sure no infection gets into the ear or the incision is the biggest thing. He had to have tubes put into his ears when he was a baby, and this doc thinks they punctured his ear drum when they put the tubes in. He’s had no, or very little hearing in that one ear ever since, but the doc THINKS his hearing should now be restored when it all heals.
