I think you are talking about what we call a Pusher fly..aka scuttle fly. It
is a fly tied in standard body pattern,usually like a bomber or quite fat
with dubbing, and then the wings are two feathers pointing forward so that
they push the water. It works well for pike and bass..also for trout at
night when you want a disturbance in the water. Joyce
