Re: [VFB] Espresso Midge

2019-11-24 Thread Joyce M Westphal
http://www.fullingmill.com/Products-US/Tactical-Flies-Nymph-US/Espresso-Midge-Black-Barbless-S16-US

Here is the picture. I think I'd tie it on a 16 down eye jig hook,
tungsten, or not, maybe just a plain glass copper bead. Dark brown thread,
tie in thin ribs of silver wire (i'd use silver mylar) and then Krystal
flash in pearl. Do the body with thread, wind the two ribs so both show,
then a dub, I'd use olive brown thorax, tie off thread behind the bead. I
often tie a midge like this on a regular caddis Stealth size 16 or 14
hook. Check out Stealth hooks. They are black, strong, and sized to actual
fish food. http://www.stealth.fish/.
Only have 114 more flies to tie, 3 different patterns, and the flies for
the Christmas orders and my personal gift boxes will be done. Sent
prototypes home with my sister as she does the beautiful arrangements and
packaging. Wore out my Nor-vise and had to send it back for repairs. Had to
use a Regal and boy, did I miss the spinning part of the Nor-vise.
However, still had the use of the Eckich bobbin. The Nor-vise has been
completely repaired, no cost to me, as it is under lifetime warranty. Joyce
