I went.
I saw.
I laughed. I did actually laugh. Laughing is a good thing. Something I
needed right now. Thank you.

Is it just me or does one of the woodchucks sound like it has a french

[videoblogging] videoblogging video conference tip #4 - timezones

2006-01-28 Thread Markus Sandy
The regularly scheduled video conferences are currently on Wednesdays at
1am GMT and Saturdays at 8pm GMT.

Here is a website that you can use to translate that into your time zone:
http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx

For example, in the Americas, the 'Wednesday' morning meeting is really
Tuesday evening and the Saturday one is in the afternoon.

BTW, There's one coming up in the next hour.

Re: [videoblogging] Wikipedia videoblogging entry

2006-01-28 Thread andrew michael baron
The vlog entry on Wikipedia is more like a commercial than a place to
go to understand anything about videoblogging. Its just a bunch of
links and you must follow the links to understand what is going on
for each listing. The entire page of the vlog entry is a big pile of
garbage, in my opinion.

The "Definitions" section is a total joke and not at all informative
or anywhere near the picture. This is the worst of it.

The "History" section is only useful for self-serving measures.

The "External links" are a fraction of a fraction of the picture.

The "Tools" listed are out-of-date and also a tiny little picture.

The "Terminology" is ridiculous.

The problem:
The information is being created by people who have a personal
invested interest in being there.

I have found, in general, that Wikipedia works best when the people
who edit and shape the information are people who are interested or
fans, without being directly involved. Thus they can be less subjective.

That's just my opinion and that's why I will never edit it, and why I
just don't care about it. Its not at all useful to anyone at this
point except for maybe the first few sentences.

[videoblogging] Wikipedia videoblogging entry

2006-01-28 Thread petertheman
I removed most outside links from the Wikipedia "videoblogging" entry
(including the one to Mefeedia), leaving only a link to a few key,
nonprofit sites: this group, freevlog and vlogmap.

Sure, disagree, but its better this way than with a long list of
self-serving commercial links. Wikipedia is not a directory. Then
again, I'm sure someone will change it back. Oh well.

Cheers,
Peter

What I do whenever I need a WMV (not all that often) is to open the swiss
army knife otherwise known as Quicktime Pro ($30) and save the MOV as
DV-AVI and then run that through Windows Movie Maker (you can get good
control using Windows Media Encoder - it's free, but a bit tricky to use).

[videoblogging] Converting Mov file to Wmv?

2006-01-28 Thread rjsmithgeek
Morning all~

I shot a video using my Nikon Coolpixs 4100 digital camera. It saves
the video as a mov file. I was wondering if anyone can help me with a
good Mov to Wmv converter? I was trying Radvideo converter but for
some reason it says I have a corupt file when I play it in my WMP 10.
 Any help?
