Re: [videoblogging] Puppets and Podcasting
I just discovered that eBay has a wealth of professional-looking puppets for sale cheap! Many of them are religiously-themed (in fact, you will get the best results if you search for 'ministry puppets') but they could VERY easily be modified for other purposes. Making one might be fun, but I can make vids faster if I don't have to. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
[videoblogging] Friction.tv - debate via online video
Hoorah, Ive been hoping for something like this for a long time: http://www.friction.tv Here's a story about the site with some quotes from the creators: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/06/07/virtual_speak_corner/ Anyway I support the idea, I dont particularily like the name or comments about wanting to 'own debate online', but I do care to see people having these debates. [videoblogging] NYC Area Videographers needed - 6/16!
Hi everybody-- I'm working with a charity called the Heart Gallery...you can check us out at: http://heartgallerynj.com/ Basically, we've got dozens of professional photographers (some world famous) who have volunteered to take portraits of New Jersey's hardest-to-place foster children. The photos become a traveling gallery show, as well as a website. We started this group two years ago, and (thanks largely to publicity from the Today Show, 20/20, CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, USA Today, etc etc) 85 of the 350+ children we shot in our first go-round have now been adopted. We're gearing up to do it again, this time focusing on the 100 children who have been in the system the longest, in an attempt to find them a forever family before they turn 18 and age out...when they're left pretty much to fend for themselves. So where do videobloggers come in? This time around, we want to include little video bios of each kid on the website (hosted by blip, natch). We've got two professional shooters on board, but would love to have a third, especially one who can provide his or her own equipment. Unfortunately, I think this will require more than just regular folks with Xactis (or else I'd be doing it), rather, we're looking for people with documentary experience, pro-level cameras, and shotgun mics. And as if that isn't enough, we're looking for them to work cheap. Yes, there is pay, but it ain't much...it will certainly be below the day rate of many of the pros that I hope read this list. So if you're available to shoot next Saturday in Newark, please either respond here (ideally with a link to your work), or drop me an email...I'm happy to answer any questions about anything I may have left out. Thanks, everyone! --Ben

No aggregating my person! LOL Maybe we need creative commons licensces for people. I guess I could get a tatoo that says rss licenscecreative commons attribution, share alike, no derivatives/licensce /rss Or if not a tatoo, maybe RFID chip would be better. :) The problem is most camera's (aka. photo aggregaotrs as I like to think of them) don't read mediaRSS. -Mike On 6/7/07, Irina [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: i expressly DEMAND the use of my person in video and photo On 6/6/07, Mike Meiser [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Speaking of aggregation issues I expressly forbid the use of my person in video or photo without my prior written consent. :) Boyaa! We work with indigenous people in the rainforest of Ecuador to provide training and resources that enable them to protect their territory -- a pristine section of biodiverse rainforest habitat -- from unwanted development. At their request, we have also created a program of public education here in the Northern hemisphere, to raise awareness of the root causes of development and exploitation of natural areas and indigenous peoples. We are holding a fairly large gathering of our volunteers from Australia, North America and the U.K. at Mills College in Oakland, CA on June 15 through 17. Of about 360 volunteers in our organization, perhaps 100 or so are able to attend this gathering in person. We wish to be able to include those who cannot come in the unfolding events at the gathering as it's happening, through the use of video clips, photos, and blog linked to our website. The ability to post questions and receive answers at the website is desired. Podcasting is another option we would like to explore. Real time streaming is not necessary; we only want to make things available within a short time after they happen. The idea is to include the entire community of volunteers, geographical distances notwithstanding. We have sources for the video content and so on, but are looking for someone who can take the content and make it available in the ways we envision. I'm sure there are many people in this community who are more than capable of making this happen with us. We would love to hear from you. Please contact me if you are interested.
