From what Jill is saying, sounds like YouTube's flagging system is like it's DMCA takedown system. Bullies can use it to get rid of things they don't like and the creator has no say. And that sucks. I've been on YouTube for a year now. And I've been trying to find the line. I talk graphically about sex in many of my videos. I use words like fuck and dick and pussy. A lot of my stuff is pure trash. But none of it has been taken down. In fact, I just got featured! But I've been living with the constant fear that my channel will be deleted. Well, it's not really a fear. I expect it to happen. So I've been uploading my videos to blip.tv as well. They treat you like an adult. They let you flag your own stuff.

Re: [videoblogging] Need to decide on a format
Hi, My name is Ben, I'm from Sydney Australia and I love animating. I'm currently working on an animated podcast and I would really appreciate your opinion on which formats I should provide. Right now I'm thinking of rendering out a 640x360 version and encoding it as a H264/AAC MP4, then uploading it to Blip.tv where their system will take care of transcoding it to FLV and an iPod compatible M4V, that gets the episode online relatively quickly and with little trouble. Thing is I also want to offer proper HD as an option so after that I'll render out a 1920x1080 version, then scale a copy to 1280x720 before encoding them both to H264/AAC MP4 again and adding them as additional HDTV files on Blip.tv. The great news is that you dont need to choose just one format. as long as you're willing to take the time to compress and upload multiple formats, then you can provide them all. With a unique feed for each format. Blip allows you to upload whatever you want and link to the original. (most sites just transcode to Flash and give you that) Check out what we do here: http://ryanishungry.com. you could add HD versions, cell phone, WMV, etc etc. vPIP.org is the Wordpress plug-in that allows you do make it easy. It even auto-generates embed code (share code) for each of the formats. Enric is the smart creator who made it... so all props to him. [videoblogging] Easy Idea for NaVloPoMo
So...um...has anyone heard of the youtube phenominon of vlogging your reaction to watching '2 Girls 1 Cup' for the first time? Three things I want to mention. 1. Definitely watch the reaction videos below, they're very funny. 2. DO NOT WATCH 2 GIRLS 1 CUP! 3. *If* you do watch it, you *HAVE* to vlog yourself watching it for the first time. See below for details on where to find it. These are a couple of my favourite reaction videos, they may contain vulgarity but are otherwise safe for work. 2 Girls 1 Cup Reaction #1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtRzf_ZcM0U 2 girls 1 cup reaction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hI3Km0y1jWs So *if* you do decide to watch it, you can't be mad at me. It's your own fault. Do not watch this for the first time without vlogging your reaction. To watch the very unsafe for work video go to http://www.2girls1cup.com (I repeat, NSFW) and if you vlog yourself, even it's it's for NaVloPoMo, post your video in this thread. Oh and go search youtube for more reaction videos. There are hundreds. Each is priceless.
