So if you guys think we should I can extend the registration by about a week. People can even register after that too, but we need at least 35 to commit at least a month in advance because we aren't taking any sponsorship money for this. Everything will be paid for from the registration funds, and we're operating pretty much at cost. At this point I don't see it happening unless we get about 25 more people to sign up. Don't get me wrong, I really want to do this. But I can't afford to hire the chef and pay for the camp if no one shows up. We can still make it happen if you want, but I need you help getting the word out and getting people signed up soon. Does anyone have any better ideas? I'm trying to work out rides from the airport. Oy... The plane ticket price has finally dropped to something manageable (down to $300 from $498 out of Laguardia) but I can't buy a ticket if the whole thing might through! Arrrgh! I can name hundreds of vloggerfolk I'd love to meet and camp out with...surely 35 of them are game for some county fun!!! I wasn't planning on registering. Re: [videoblogging] Mogulus Blip Import?
Yes your feed didn't show up in my FF3 (in XP SP3) either. Yet other mogulus - say my import of my rss feed http://mogulus.com/punkcast.com/ - works fine The mozilla people twittered me that it was flash issue. I experimented with a fresh FF3 on Windows Vista box and found that worked perfectly on all feeds. Going back to my old FF3 in XP I then found that switching off Adblock+ solved the problem. I'd have to experiment more but it seems like it depends on what the source is - flash or something else. I think it's worth adding these words to one's mogulus profile: Firefox users! If you don't see the stream either disable adblocking or try another browser! Apart from that I wish there was more documentation on mogulus about input and output formats, and also that there was a way to feed files, not just camera, directly from remote rather than web. I d/l'd the free Adobe Flash Media Encoder 2.5 and it works great with camera but there's no file option AFAICS. joly On Jun 22, 2008, at 12:10 AM, B Yen wrote: On Jun 20, 2008, at 12:52 PM, WWWhatsup wrote: Mogulus doesn't work for me in Firefox, only in IE - anyone else have the same prob? [videoblogging] NYTimes piece on political videoblogging
The NY Times has a cool story about how different freelance groups are using the web to get out their message and the difference these videos are making. The downside of the story is, this piece still has the storyline of the gee-wiz this is so new and the internet is just now a player in the political process, forgetting that in 2004 the internet caused the rise of Dean, MoveOn's Bush in :60 seconds and Kerry's ability to stay competitive with Bush in money raised. In 2006, webvideo led to the biggest upsets including Ned Lamont beating Joe Lieberman in the Dem primary and the loss of two GOP seats that were deemed certain to stay Republican: Virginia and Montana. Nevertheless, it's a good read. http://tinyurl.com/5ctv3c [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Nevertheless, it's a good read. http://tinyurl.com/5ctv3c good post. Its amazing to me how much effect web video. But the bigger issue is how we talk to each other about politics...and many aspects of life in general. Web video doesnt solve the fact that I grew up not knowing any of my neighbors and basically being taught that politics was stupid. How does the economy work? What is the effect of the current tax cuts? What will happen when all the baby boomers start to retire? Who really does own the agriculture commodities in the US? Does God have any bearing on the price of milk? We have endless space and time to really dig into facts if we want to really have a discussion and be informed. The real challenge is if we/you/they, as independent media creators, can actually use video to make these conversations happen. I look forward to it. Jay -- http://jaydedman.com 917 371 6790
