Re: [videoblogging] how to repair out of sync .mp4 files

2008-12-09 Thread sjs Productions
I recently had a sync problem that I fixed by bringing in the QT movie into
QT and then exporting the movie as a new name out of QT. Might try that.

I just ripped and output (with Handbrake) a DVD from a show I did into
 an mp4 file.

The audio is lagging a second or 2 behind the video.

Is the only way to repair this to split the track in imovie and then
 manually try to re-align
 them?

Is this a known problem outputting with handbrake?

 Appreciate any insight or help.

[videoblogging] Canon 5D Mark II

2008-12-09 Thread Scott Parent
Any have a chance to use this camera yet? I have been seeing the video this
produces and I'm blown away. I currently shoot with a Canon XH-A1 and I'm
seriously considering getting the 5D Mark II because of the quality of the
footage.

Anyone played with one? Thoughts?

I saw the movie by Vincent Laforêt
http://www.vincentlaforet.com/
I think i'll buy it soon because it will be a good tool for art
vlogging.

I was talking recently with Robert Croma about this great tool

The only problem in Europe is the 30frames/seconds

Please keep me in touch on my address mail if you buy it before me

Amazing camera, indeed. Low light performance beats any camcorder up
to $75k. I hope Canon adds 24P in the firmware update. For $2700, this
camera is a steal. If you see the video it shoots, you'll be hooked
for life.. :) The mono on-board mike is a minus too, but not major
one. I'm seriously considering one, I hear there's a year wait
though... :)

[videoblogging] Re: Joomla Video Hosting and Social Network

2008-12-09 Thread myfirstmemorydotorg
Hey,

Sorry about not checking out your vids/site before. I'm on a cel
modem in rural Michigan. Not a lot of speed or bandwidth to play
 with.
If you meant me, no worries, I am just glad to be here.

Are you running J1.5 or 1.0?
J1.5 and lovin' it!

If you are on 1.5, are you running in Legacy mode, or can you run
 in legacy mode?
If you are running in legacy or 1.0.x, try out Seyret: http://
 www.joomlaholic.com/
I can run Joomla in legacy, no problem, but Seyret seems to not be
ready... 0.2.8.3 for now - and I really need a way for people to
upload videos, not submit (sorry, I was not specific), so I will have
to wait for it to mature.

Do you know of another way to do this? I thought I could have a
box.net account with a shared folder... however, people could probably
see everybody else's video, unless I took it down immediately... and
it's not smooth or pretty

Cheers,
MyFirstMemory.org

   Joomla as Video Portal
   ---
Here's something that I don't know if any of you know about.
   http://hwdmediashare.co.uk

   From the website:

hwdVideoShare is a powerful video gallery for Joomla that allows
  you
to display video media in an organised and managable layout on the
Internet. hwdVideoShare can handle the uploading, server-side
processing and playback of large video media in all popular
  formats.

I'm looking at this for the 'large project' I've been talking about
for the last year or so, but it's an alpha release right now, and
  the
current styling is not very good. The developer seems to be the
  bomb,
though, he's making it happen real quick and has a great reputation
for delivering outstanding support very quickly. From what I can
  see,
   that's an understatement.

I'm not sure which direction I'm going to go, but this is a
  possibility.

There is also a real nice video tool for joomla, called All Videos
   Reloaded: http://allvideos.fritz-elfert.de/

   Very cool stuff.

Joomla is becoming much more robust, and is really starting to
   embrace media and social networking.

Check out my old standard: http://k9disc.com .

If you goto Main MenuConnectDisc Dog Cantina to see a brand
spankin' new Social Networking component, JomSocial, in action.

I think it looks pretty slick and has been well received by the disc
   dog community.

I'm not real happy with the organizational structure, but I'm about
ready to wrap it into that 'large project'.

   More on the 'large project'
   ---
I'm in the process of creating a dog sport community, not unlike
k9disc.com - but BIGGER - that will feature pay to play
  instructional
video, a facebook-esque social network, affiliate vendor support,
  and
   online magazine.

If anyone is interested in discussing Joomla as a media/social
network platform, I'd be happy to engage in that conversation. I've
been buried in the application for a few months now, and have a lot
   of information to share.

I think Joomla has been overlooked and is under-appreciated
application by this community, and would really like to see a little
focus put on it by some of you serious video geeks.

I sure could use someone to bounce ideas off of.

   peace,
   Ron Watson
