Nice job with that.

The still image was pretty good and the HD footage gave you a good choice of
shots to
choose.

How did hte stations credit you for the footage? Local blogger? ;-)

you can see here how they credited me

http://www.quintanomedia.com/index.php/quintano-media-in-the-press/

I noticed some things that upset me this morning about blog sites

http://www.jalopnik.com and http://www.gizmodo.com

I check my site traffic constantly and suddenly I noticed some of my
traffic coming from these sites so I checked it out. Jalopnik.com used
my pics and they did credit me at the end of the story but then I also
noticed their article had over 6,000 hits. my website not even close.
The best part was that gizmodo and a few other blogs used the same
article but credited jalopnik.com for it and not me.
To make things worse, when I first submitted my work on my blog I
immediately created a digg for it. over the last 5 days i only had 10
diggs. this morning I wake up and jalopnik.coms article was dugg with
my photo and it was in this mornings top in all topics on digg.com. I
wrote digg and twitted to them too on how upset I was about this.
AFter I discovered Jalopnik.com was using my work I contacted them to
assure them they can use my photo as long as I Was credited properly.
Which they did. The other sites who were using their article werent. I
wrote to them as well. Gizmodo was the only one who changed thier
credit to me. you can witness the transactions on my twitter and
theirs twitter.com/quintano_media and twitter.com/jalopnik.com

I think it's rebroadcasting on an autopilot loop - just go to
wreckandsalvage.com/tricorn.

i would love to hear people's feelings/reactions to the live aspect of
this event (I was only able to see the rebroadcast). What was it like to see
it as it was made? did the chat room enhance the experience?
How was it different for you from watching something similar that isn't
live?

(I know I know I'm not part of WS just kind of obsessive about these issues

[videoblogging] Revver back from the dead?

2009-02-03 Thread Freya
Revver seems to have sort of come back, not sure if that is Lazarus style or
George A Romero, I guess we will have to see!

Hah! :)

Sounds like they haven't paid anybody for a long time, though, so
unless that changes my guess is it's more of a Romero.

Re: [videoblogging] Tricorn Live Now

2009-02-03 Thread Adam Quirk
Thanks everyone who showed up. It was great seeing all your names in the
chatter box, even if I didn't get a chance to chatter back.
The live aspect was twofold, we had our webcams plugged in, and occasionally
during the broadcast (rarely) we'd cut to them. But the entire hour was
spent selecting clips from each of our folders. We spent a couple weeks
gathering video from various sources on the vague topic of health, then
each of us gradually built up a small library of clips in our Mogulus studio
folders. We had scripted the first 3 minutes of the hour, but after that it
was a free-for-all. All three of us had our fingers on the buttons, so if we
saw a clip from one of the other two that we thought we could follow, we'd
cue it up. Sometimes we'd trump each other with a clip we thought was better
for the flow.
As Valdez said last night after it was over, it really helps to do this with
people you trust.

It was exhilarating. I'm really looking forward to next month's. We're going
to mix in a little more live webcam action I think.

Also, we're taking recommendations for themes. I'm personally leaning
towards Space or Satellites, but it's still wide open.
