[videoblogging] Re: golf hottie

2006-05-11 Thread Lukas Blakk

I think I've read more posts from this group in the last 12 hours than in the past 12 months! That video was awesome Steph! There will be plenty of opportunties for in person debates about inclusion and where to go next at Vloggercon and I hope that everyone will come with open hearts and minds. To me, the key is that those who have the access and/or the finances and/or the time and/or the knowledge try to share what they have. That's what keeps me tuned in to the "vlogosphere" whatever it may be. That's what will ultimately separate the vlogs from the tv as this video on the web craze takes off - those who share and teach and those who hoard and copyright.that's my $0.02lukasbackinblakk.blogspot.com

[videoblogging] Fundraising to get to Vloggercon 2006

2006-05-01 Thread Lukas Blakk

Hi All,

I've started a fundraiser at fundable.org to try and get together
enough cash to buy a plane ticket to Vloggercon 2006.

Tomorrow I'll also be posting a vlog about this and showing off the
incentive crafty item I've made for folks who donate $20 or more.

Basically, I really need to go to Vloggercon because after a year of
doing this - I want so badly to have the opportunity to connect with
all the other vloggers who will be there. There are so many issues
that I am looking forward to discussing with other people who vlog -
Face to face, no less!

Anyway. If you take the time to go to the link and make a pledge,
you'll be a total angel to me; the broke queer in canada.

Thanks in advance,

[videoblogging] h264 and Quicktime compression.

2006-04-10 Thread Lukas Blakk

Hi folks,I'm hoping someone could tell me a couple of things about the h.264 codec that comes with QT 7.Basically my issue is that it does really excellent, small videos BUT it seems that many people can't watch the video - older computers I guess. I've done some vids with h.263, I can't seem to use 3ivx through Tiger - can anyone help me with tips on compression that's good for the majority of computer users? Thanks, lukas blakkbackinblakk.blogspot.com

[videoblogging] h.264 and QuickTime Compression

2006-04-10 Thread Lukas Blakk

Perhaps my question was unclear - I'm aware of VLC and have many ways of playing back a variety of formats on my computer. The issue I'm having is more about makingmy videos viewable to the most people - Users might be at a library computer and unable to download or install applicationsor using an old iMac... Basically I get comments fairly regularily that say people can't see the image, or worse - nothing at all. So does anyone know of compression codecs (or settings) that look good, create small files via Quicktime AND canbe viewed on old systems? thanks, lukas blakkbackinblakk.blogspot.comMessage: 9Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2006 14:17:39 -0400 From: WWWhatsup [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: Re: h264 and Quicktime compression.Tell the users to try the
