[videoblogging] Re: Reducing HD files on mac/Imovie without loosing HD
I can;t post here except with safari, 3 other browsers nothing but problems on this thing OK, I will try the medium for tubemogul, I tried large, that was too big, then did 2 medium which I haven't tried yet to upload, as Ryan went even smaller, if I remember correctly, so was waiting for reply. I think the medium is the way to go - 640x360? although she went the next smaller recording in HD at different sizes or speeds' (frames) t 30 and 60 fps, my camera doesn't have that capability that I know of jsut point and shoot I will double check, and also for any new one I buy. How much of a difference then in size, and quality for recording 30 vs 60 fps HD? I would think the more frames better quality. good point re, filmmaker and activist, I just checked the size of some of mine and someone else's, I thought they were always uploading in HD, but they aren't (I know some that do thou), 360 (medium?). I don't know why one of mine uploaded at 360 looks distorted , and several others I reduced for youtube don't, all of them look great except for one from the Toronto Protests. youtube forums' yikes, ok, will ask re YT when up to it, re 2 days of fails prior, and uploading time for HD thx again for responding much gratitude, I keep at it as able :) namaste cheryl --- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, Jay dedman jay.ded...@... wrote: Hey Cheryl-- If you are recording in HD quality, then compressing that video will decrease the quality. But because you are starting at high quality, the compressed version has a better chance of looking good. Remember that the quality of the video also depends on the kind of lens you have, the lighting, and the original sound. If I shoot a bad video, it will look bad no matter what I do to it. Ultimately, I just experiment will videos look good...but are not so big that people cannot download them quickly. It all depends on what you're trying to accomplish. An artist or filmmaker will probably prefer people wait to download a file because they want the best quality to be seen. An activst is fine with cell phone quality of it can spread quickly around the world. If you are having issues with Youtube, I would use the Youtube forums. Usually that service is pretty solid. Not sure why it wouldnt take your videos.
