WHAT IS "C-SPAN StudentCam"? C-SPAN StudentCam is an annual documentary competition that encourages students to think seriously about issues that affect our communities and our nation. http://www.studentcam.org/ StudentCam is open to all middle school students (grades 6-8) and high school students (grades 9-12) in the United States as individuals, or teams of students. Teams are limited to 3 students. The competition is also open to international students and there will be one $500 prize for the best international entry. Videos must be the original work of students, however, teachers may provide guidance and critiques. Topic: What is the most urgent issue for the new president to address after taking office, and why? Students are asked to create a short (between 5 and 8 minutes) video documentary that explores an issue of national significance that they believe is in need of urgent attention from the new president of the United States.
