Hi jd,
I don't know about the lights. maybe ry knows. she's a fan of led's
i would think that color might be something to take into account and
possibly correct for
btw, i heard you had lost your canon. i had similar thing happen to
my xacti, but it was still there when i went back (what a
surprise!). Did it work out for you that way too? I hope so.
on a barely related note:
Unfortunately, I think I have fried the firewire on my HV20; it has
stopped working. Major bummer. This lead to some research about
firewire and I must say that there is a confusing picture between
apple's claims of hot swapping and chaining devices and some device
manufacture's warnings. While canon has little to say on this, sony
instructs users that they will void warranty if they do not follow
proper power up procedures and requires removal of all other firewire
devices!!! hello, can someone say video editor with a camera and a
drive? it also appears that even 6-to-4 pin connections can "leak"
static charges or are prone to lose connection issue that can fry
10's of 1000's of dollars. It appears pros use special firewire
adapters to ensure no power out to devices that are not designed for
it. General advice is to always connect firewire to computer first
to reduce chance of charge going to camera while connecting up.
Apparently be very careful even inserting directional plugs so as not
to chance a spark.
Hopefully a warrenty repair. I don't really fault canon here. got
to be very careful with "frierwire" :o
